    Job description

    The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing routine medical and testing procedures under direct supervision of the treating clinician as well as supports in other areas of the facility as needed including registration. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one-on-one patient care. 
    • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and any required or requested ancillary testing including but not limited to injections, phlebotomy and EKG
    • Assist providers during examination and treatment
    • Apply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered by the treating clinician
    • Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms
    • Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expected
    • Ensure accuracy in documentation
    • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
    • Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility

    Education Level: Vocational/Technical/Business School
    • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school (credentials in the state of employment in accordance with state requirements and applicable regulations) 

    Job-Related Experience
    • Customarily has at least five months or more of medical assistant experience
    • Knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology
     

    Job-Related Skills/Competencies
    • Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to  propose quality solutions
    • Outstanding customer service skills and professionalism
    • The ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies
    • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing in Spanish


    This position is eligible to earn a base compensation rate in the state range of $17.00 to $20.00 hourly depending on job-related factors as permitted by applicable law, such as level of experience

    We are looking for an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practotioner - to diagnose and treat health conditions, as well as promote good health practices, in a primary care clinic.

    The job description includes conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests, and overseeing patients’ health. Clinical experience in primary care is vital. You will be working with primarily with Hispanic patients and so fluency in the Spanish language is a must.

    • Strong ethics
    • Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner state license
    • Must be Certified
    • Minimum two years experience in a hospital, clinic setting or urgent care

    Job Type: Part-time or Full-time

    Pay: Commensurate with experience
