This is 100% Nephrology practice that offers the opportunity to practice Academic Nephrology caring for a wide variety of patients. The successful candidate will have a clinical faculty appointment and will be practicing general nephrology in different settings including in-patient consults, out-patient hemodialysis, general Nephrology clinic, peritoneal dialysis clinic along with specialty clinic.
Our candidate will have the opportunity to get training in Therapeutic Apheresis modalities and participate in care for patients in need of Apheresis. There will be opportunity to participate in scholarly activities including teaching medical students, residents, nephrology fellows and conduct clinical research.
Faculty within the Department of Medicine are welcome to explore academic pursuits through teaching and/or research, as well as provide care to the underserved through our partnerships with SAC Health System in the Inland Empire and Guam Seventh-day Adventist Clinic in Micronesia. An EmPATH unit is a specialized, calming space within a hospital designed to provide rapid mental health assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing a crisis. It differs from a traditional emergency room by prioritizing a soothing environment that reduces anxiety and promotes healing and other clinical sites.
This is a meaningful opportunity to serve a diverse and underserved population in the Inland Empire region, while working in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment at one of Southern California’s leading academic medical centers and a Level I Trauma Center.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide direct psychiatric care to patients in the Crisis Stabilization/EMPATH Unit
· Participate in collaborative care with Emergency Department teams, medical and surgical specialties, and social services
· Engage in consultation-liaison psychiatry as needed, including floor consults
· Supervise and teach psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees
· Collaborate with a team of nurse practitioners, social workers, case managers, and peer support specialists to ensure seamless transitions of care
· Contribute to quality improvement, innovation, and development of best practices in emergency psychiatric care

Read LessLoma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Transplant Institute, is seeking a full-time Transplant Hepatologist to join our team. The ideal candidate should be board certified or board eligible in Transplant Hepatology and Gastroenterology.
Clinical duties would include outpatient clinic seeing general hepatology, pre- and post-transplant patients, outpatient endoscopy, and inpatient service 1 in 4-5 weeks. Night/weekend call is shared with GI, approximately 5-6 weeks total per year. Inpatient and outpatient duties are supported by a team of experienced NPs, PAs, and RNs. The position includes teaching students, residents and fellows. A clinical or health services research focus is encouraged, with average 3 half-days per week protected time provided.
The liver transplant program is one of the largest in California, averaging 100-110 transplants per year. We have satellite clinics in Palm Springs, Murrieta, and the nearby Riverside county hospital.
Loma Linda is the only tertiary/quaternary program in the Inland Empire, serving Riverside and San Bernardino counties with a combined population of >4 million. Both the Transplant Institute clinic and the Medical Center hospital are brand new state-of-the-art facilities. Protected research time is available and a research focus is encouraged. Opportunities for intramural and extramural collaboration and program development abound. The scope and diversity of the clinical genetics practice is extraordinary, offering both depth and breadth of experience in all areas including neurogenetics, cardiogenetics, cancer genetics, dysmorphology, congenital anomalies and other specialty areas in genetics. Loma Linda University Clinical Lab is building a state-of the-art clinical genetic and genomic testing laboratory to provide comprehensive diagnostic services across the health system and serving the Inland Empire with a PhD laboratory geneticist and a laboratory based genetic counselor.
Loma Linda University School of Medicine has a newly accredited graduate program (MS) in genetic counseling that is enrolling its first class in the fall of 2025.
