We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer to support and grow our Transportation Practice in our Dayton, Ohio office.
Annual Compensation: $81,000 – 120,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

STRUCTURAL BRIDGE ENGINEER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Collaborate with a team on structural analysis and design of various bridge types, including steel beams, prestressed concrete beams, concrete slabs, pedestrian bridges, culverts, retaining walls, grade separations, stream crossings, bridge hydraulic analysis, rehabilitation, feasibility studies, structure type studies, load ratings, railroad bridges, and design-build projects.Lead bridge projects as the Bridge Task Coordinator, managing project schedules, tasks, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client goals and deadlines.Provide structural bridge design and plan production support to teams across different office locations.Mentor junior engineers, fostering professional development while overseeing quality control for bridge design and plan sets.Mentor junior engineers and perform quality control for structural/bridge plan sets.Develop technical memorandums, specifications, feasibility studies, evaluations, and reports, and contribute to proposal development.Additional duties as assigned.STRUCTURAL BRIDGE ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Civil Engineering required. Structural emphasis preferred.PE license is a plus; successful candidates must have or be able to obtain a PE within 1 year of hire.Qualifications:
5-10 years of hands-on bridge/culvert design experience, with a strong background in the full lifecycle of bridge projectsDirect experience with DOT bridge design and a thorough understanding of DOT design guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation.Established relationships with state DOTs and municipalities are preferred.In-depth knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and the Manual for Bridge Evaluation.Experience with CAD plan development, MicroStation/ORD preferred.Desired Skills:

BRIDGE ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for management, scope, fees, and the profitability of individual projects and project portfolio.Point person and firm’s contact with clients while functioning as project manager.Assists in new sales with clients for which they are managing projects.Guides and coordinates internal LJB transportation disciplines with sub-consultants and clients.Experience managing multidisciplinary teams.Possesses an understanding of all transportation disciplines and requirements as related to bridge design projects.Responsible for assisting Deputy Operations Manager in maintaining PM best practices.On larger projects, may or may not be involved directly in the design.Apprise Operations Management of employee performance on projects.Provide information to Deputy Operations Manager on future projects so they can manage staffing.Assist in informal development of other employees.Other duties as assigned.BRIDGE ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required; M.S. degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.P.E. license required.Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus.Qualifications:
