Position Overview & Purpose
The Field Services Technician will be the face of LiveOak Fiber to each of our customers as you install and maintain their new service. This role is key to our success in the market, and we are seeking the very best to staff these positions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Installs and repairs Active and Passive Optical Network systems in compliance with company technical standards from consumer service to exterior drop location.Install interior wiringConnect peripheral equipmentTrain customers on proper use of equipmentUnderstand/apply FCC and NESC technical standardsMaintain professional appearance and behavior at all timesMaintain excellent attendanceResponsible for motor vehicle per company policy including equipment & tool inventory, vehicle security and vehicle maintenancePerforms network troubleshooting including ping test, trace routes and speed testOther duties as assigned - which may include training other employeesKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong oral and written communications skillsSome working knowledge of Fiber based Field OperationsProcess oriented, automation forward thinkerBasic Qualifications & Competencies

Customer Engagement and Education
Engage with potential customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.Answer questions about service packages, installation processes, and pricing to help customers make informed decisions.3. Territory Management
Plan and organize daily routes to maximize coverage and sales opportunities.Conduct market research within assigned areas to identify potential customer segments and opportunities.4. Reporting and Metrics
Track daily sales activities and customer interactions using tools and designated systems.Provide regular updates to the Supervisor, Outside Sales on sales performance, challenges, and opportunities.Provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to support strategic planning.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse customers.Self-motivated and results-driven with a passion for sales and customer service.Knowledge of fiber optic technology and internet services is preferred but not required (training provided).Proficiency in using CRM software or similar tools to track leads and manage customer information.Ability to handle objections and negotiate effectively.Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing time effectively.
Basic Qualifications & Competencies
High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or a related field.Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within assigned territories.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.Preferred Qualifications & Competencies
Experience in door-to-door sales, telecommunications, or internet service sales.Familiarity with fiber optic internet services and the telecommunications industry.Bilingual skills are a plus.
