Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain the health
, safety, and supervision of all children at all timesCreate a fun, safe, and positive learning environment that encourages respect, responsibility, and cooperation among children and promotes intellectual and creative growthCollaborate with colleagues to prepare weekly lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practice for children ages 0-5 years old, including developing schedules/routines to ensure adequate physical activity, playtime, and rest timeGear the program to the needs of individual children, with concern for their interests, challenges, special talents, and individual styles and paces of learningPerform all necessary daily activities in a timely manner, such as setting up or closing down the classroom, cleaning and sanitizing toys and equipment, diaper changing/potty training, etc.Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleaguesCommunicate with parents on students' growth and progressParticipate in recommended training courses and other aspects of professional growth
Qualifications:
Must be able to work the required shift of 9/9:30am-6pm, Monday through Friday.
Associates, CDA, or Bachelors preferred, but at minimum must be teacher qualified per DCFS (must provide copy of college transcripts with ECE courses and or CDA certificate).Must meet all state DCFS requirements, including but not limited to passing a criminal background check and a physical with TB test and proof of vaccinations for MMR and T-dap.Minimum of one year of child development experience in a nursery, school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center.Demonstration of successful experience with young children (infants, toddlers, twos, and/or preschoolers).Ability and willingness to maintain absolute confidentiality of sensitive information.Demonstration of professional communication with parents and co-workers.Ability to lift children up to 40 pounds if need be.Must be dependable and have reliable transportation.Have or be willing to obtain CPR certification.Commitment to continued education.
