Driver The driver is responsible for transporting finished chassis to the customer. Essential functions include observance of all safety rules and policies, final inspection of finished chassis and repair of minor defects, preparation of finished chassis for transportation through appropriate stabilization and safety procedures, delivery of finished chassis to customer following approved delivery routes and specified delivery areas, unloading of finished chassis at appropriate destination through approved procedures, coordination of necessary paperwork at the time of departure, at time of delivery, and at time of return, receipt and delivery of miscellaneous goods as is necessary or assigned, rotation of position into production team structure as necessary, assistance in repair work as necessary, maintenance of good housekeeping practices at all times. Competencies include the ability to work as a part of a team to achieve the company's overall goals, clear verbal and written communication skills, ability to read and process written communication including work orders and measurements, ability to meet production goals and time deadlines for company projects, ability to work with minimum supervision, competency in transportation and over-the-road responsibilities, welding competency and knowledge of welding systems, ability to rotate to other production positions as the need arises or as is deemed necessary, ability to operate a Lift Truck or Tractor as necessary, successful problem solving skills, tact and diplomacy, ability to work under physically and mentally stressful situations, ability to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day. Qualifications include a Lift Truck Operators License preferred (training available). This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, lifting and/or moving items over 50 pounds, and specific vision abilities required by this job. Protective Equipment supplied by the company includes coating suit, coating boots, spray socks, respirator, work gloves, safety glasses and ear plugs.
