Position Overview
As Lead Service Technician at Linked Alarm, you will be the primary field expert responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining low-voltage systems. This position will transition into a Service Manager. You will manage service calls from initial troubleshooting through documentation and billing, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and efficiency at every step.
This role requires strong technical skills, independent decision-making, strong customer communication skills, and ownership of the end-to-end service process.
What You’ll Do
Service & Technical Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm, intrusion, access control, CCTV, and intercom systemsRespond to scheduled and emergency service calls to minimize client downtimePerform preventative maintenance and system inspectionsProgram, configure, and reconfigure panels, devices, and system softwareEnsure all work complies with NEC, NFPA 72, and applicable local codesIdentify root causes of recurring system issues and recommend corrective solutionsCustomer Communication & Quote Management
Communicate findings clearly and professionally with clientsGenerate accurate repair and upgrade quotes from the fieldObtain client approval for additional billable workEducate customers on system operation and preventative careBuild long-term client trust through professionalism and technical expertiseBilling & Documentation
Accurately document service calls, labor hours, parts used, and recommendationsSubmit complete service reports dailyEnsure billable work is properly captured and communicated to the officeAssist in collecting payments when requiredAlarm Signal & Reporting Oversight
Review alarm signal reports and identify recurring troubles, communication failures, or system deficienciesProactively recommend service visits based on signal activity trendsWork with the central station and office staff to resolve signal reporting issuesOperational Responsibilities
Coordinate daily workflow with dispatch for efficient routing and schedulingMaintain organized vehicle inventory and tool readinessProtect and maintain the company's equipment and vehiclesSupport process improvements and contribute to team knowledgeWhat You Bring
5+ years of field service experience in low voltage, fire alarm, or security systemsWorking knowledge of major platforms (Honeywell, Silent Knight, Notifier, Bosch, DSC, Hikvision, etc.)Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilityAbility to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsConfidence working independently in commercial and residential environmentsStrong written and verbal communication skillsValid driver’s license with a clean recordPhysical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spacesBonus Qualifications

What You’ll Do
As an Installation Technician at Linked Alarm, you’ll be the go-to expert for installing low-voltage systems— including fire alarms, intrusion systems, access control, intercoms, and surveillance. You’ll work with a team and independently in the field while still feeling the support of a close-knit team, backed by solid processes and leadership that knows the industry inside and out.
Plan cooridante and perform installations of low voltage systemsDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair security, fire, CCTV, access control, and intercom systemsHandle both scheduled and emergency service calls to minimize client downtimePerform preventative maintenance and ensure compliance with all applicable codesProgram and reconfigure panels, software, and system hardwareAccurately document service calls, parts used, and recommendationsDeliver on-site customer education and support with professionalismCoordinate daily workflow with dispatch for efficient route and installation managementMaintain tools, inventory, and a clean service vehicleEnsure work meets NEC, NFPA 72, and other regulatory standards
What You Bring
2+ years of field experience in low voltage, fire alarm, or security systemsHands-on knowledge of systems like Honeywell, Silent Knight, Notifier, Bosch, DSC, Hikvision, Potter, Alarm.com etc.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsConfidence working independently in diverse environmentsStrong interpersonal and communication skills—client trust is keyValid driver’s license with a clean recordPhysical ability to lift 50 lbs, use ladders, and work in tight spaces
