Job description You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to: All responsibilities and activities involve working outside in sweet corn fields. Main work assignments involve, but not limited to: Hand pollination of sweet corn plants Plant tissue sampling Rouging of sweet corn fields Possible assisting in harvest of hand pollinations if needed Additional duties may be assigned Required knowledge high school diploma or equivalent preferred Minimum of 1 year related experience Physical Demands walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work long days in outside environment. Conditions can include high heat, insects, cold, and various environmental issues. The employee will need to walk on uneven ground (production fields), work near equipment or machinery, and may be exposed to vibration or constant movement. The noise levels can be high during certain planting and harvest events. Employee is required to wear working boots that will stand mud, water and dirt.
