About Us Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 40-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to the treatment and recovery of those who have experienced serious injury, trauma or illness. Our care plans are designed for patients who are medically stable but need intensive therapy before returning home or to a lower level of care. Common conditions treated include brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic injuries and joint replacements, and amputation. How you'll contribute As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with us, you are an essential part of the patient's journey to independence. This includes, but is not limited to: * Providing daily living care to the patients * Assisting in the preparation of admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients * Answering call lights in a timely manner * Demonstrating the ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily * Obtaining and recording temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, etc. * Making rounds with oncoming shift to ensure the unit is left in good condition * Integrating the plan of care with Rehabilitation Services treatment plan to attain patient's optimal level of functioning Qualifications * Completion of a nursing assistant training course * Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant * CPR/BLCS Certification * High school diploma or equivalent required * 6 months+ of relevant experience preferred Why Join Us? How you'll contribute The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for delivering basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, supporting patients' comfort and assisting with daily living activities and clinical procedures. A Certified Nursing Assistant who excels in this role will: * Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance. * Provide general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment. * Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom. * Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document in a timely manner. * Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness. * Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting. * Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings. * Answer patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately. * Perform other related duties as assigned.
