    Job Summary:
    The Med-Surg Registered Nurse provides direct and individualized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a general medical and surgical unit. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with the hospital s policies, professional nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and reassessments of patients conditions.
    Develop and implement individualized care plans based on nursing diagnoses and patient needs.
    Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments accurately and safely.
    Monitor and document patients responses to medications, treatments, and procedures.
    Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, procedures, post-discharge care, and health maintenance.
    Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
    Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    Recognize and respond to changes in patients conditions and initiate appropriate interventions.
    Safely prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist with postoperative recovery.
    Adhere to infection control, safety, and privacy standards at all times.
    Delegate appropriate tasks to LPNs, CNAs, or other team members and supervise their work.
    Participate in unit meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education.
