Pay Range: The pay range is $22.00-$29.77/Hour
Job Summary:
This position supports people with disabilities in preparing for the workforce through education, training, and job readiness preparation. The employment specialist will work closely with businesses and community partners to help identify qualified candidates for various positions.

Carpenter/General Construction Worker
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Assistant Director of Facility Management
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.; frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in various physical positions; ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, ability to safely operate tools and equipment associated with construction and carpentry.
Hours of Work: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Additional hours and on call as required as assigned.
Job Summary: The Carpenter/General Construction Worker is responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled tasks associated with the construction, repair, and maintenance of agency buildings, structures, and infrastructure. This position requires strong technical expertise, the ability to read and follow construction plans, and a commitment to safe, high-quality workmanship. The role also involves collaboration with a variety of staff and program personnel to support the agency's operational and program needs.
Pay Range: $30.00- $40.50
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 7 years' experience in carpentry, construction, or a related skilled trade required.Ability to accurately read, understand, and follow blueprints and construction plansProficiency with hand and power tools and general construction equipment required.Valid NYS driver's license that meets agency requirements.Must speak, read and write the English language.Ability to perform accurate measurements and basic job-related mathematical calculations required.Possession of or ability to obtain the OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification within agency-defined timelines.Major Responsibilities:
Perform physical labor to construct, install, repair, and maintain buildings, structures, fixtures, and agency infrastructure.Utilize CMMS to track time and work progress while managing projects to meet budget expectations.Read, understand, and follow blueprints, drawings, specifications, and written or verbal instructions from supervisors and project managers.Ensure all work is completed with precision and meets established quality standards, building codes, and project specifications.Use basic mathematical skills to complete accurate measurements, calculate material needs, and perform job-related calculations.Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials using proper carpentry and construction techniques.Safely operate a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.Assist with routine inspections and identify repair or maintenance needs as they arise.Maintain clean and safe work areas and follow all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.Perform other related duties as assigned.Disclaimer – The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
