Join a Respected Detroit Law FirmLHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established Detroit law firm seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a busy litigation practice. The firm is open to candidates from a variety of litigation backgrounds, with a strong preference for defense litigation experience. Plaintiff-side experience may be considered for exceptional candidates with highly transferable skills and a strong litigation foundation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing cases from inception through resolution.
ResponsibilitiesAssist attorneys through all phases of litigation, from case intake through trial preparation.Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.Manage and maintain case files, calendars, deadlines, and litigation databases.Coordinate and track discovery, including document review, production, and responses.Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances.Conduct factual research and assist with legal research as needed.Prepare exhibits, witness files, trial binders, and other case-related materials.Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel.Review and summarize medical records, employment records, and other case documentation when applicable.Ensure compliance with court rules, filing requirements, and litigation deadlines.
Qualifications3+ years of litigation paralegal experience preferred.Experience in defense litigation strongly preferred; candidates with other litigation backgrounds will be considered.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.Experience with state and federal court filings.Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery processes, and court deadlines.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
