The Opportunity We’re seeking a Construction Accountant to join our close-knit corporate team. This is a key role supporting project managers and leadership with a wide range of administrative and accounting responsibilities. If you're someone who’s highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving problems, this could be the perfect fit for you. We're especially looking for someone who is confident, adaptable, and eager to learn. You'll have the opportunity to cross-train in multiple areas of our business, expanding your skills and knowledge in the construction industry. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and communicates with ease. This position is based in our corporate office, with occasional travel to project sites in a company vehicle — so a valid driver’s license is required. What You’ll Do Support payroll processing on a weekly basis Be a go-to resource for project and construction managers Review and process invoices and payment applications Communicate with project teams to resolve discrepancies Prepare and manage accounts payable payments Assist corporate officers and leadership with administrative tasks Understand project specifications to support accurate documentation Conduct project-related research and collaborate with estimating teams What You Bring A two-year college degree (accounting or business preferred) Background in construction accounting or hands-on experience using ComputerEase Strong written and verbal communication skills Confidence working independently and in a team environment Excellent attention to detail and organization Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software Familiarity with reading contracts and financial terms A valid driver’s license Previous experience in accounting, payroll, or administrative roles is a plus Why You’ll Love Working With Us We understand that when we invest in our people, great things happen.     What You'll Do

    Lead and oversee daily operations of excavation, grading, and underground utility crewsCoordinate labor, materials, and equipment to meet schedule and quality goalsOperate heavy equipment as needed (excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, rollers)Read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsSet grades using lasers and grade rods; GPS experienceEnsure job site safety by enforcing company and OSHA standardsCommunicate clearly with project managers, inspectors, and crew membersTrain and mentor crew members in equipment use, safety, and quality standardsMonitor progress, solve problems on site, and report issues proactivelyTravel to out-of-town job sitesSupport site cleanup and light equipment maintenance


    What You Bring

    5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction (utilities, grading, or site work)3+ years of leadership experience as a foreman or crew leadProficiency operating a wide range of heavy equipmentAbility to read blueprints and independently set gradeStrong communication, leadership, and team-building skillsFocus on safety and compliance in dynamic field environmentsValid drivers license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtainWillingness to travel and work extended hours when necessaryFamiliarity with Topcon GPS and light mechanical skills a plusAble to work year-round, with some seasonal variation
