Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAt Lensing Building Specialties and Architectural Sales our Glass & Glazing department designs, installs and services projects ranging from storefronts to multi-story curtainwall. Using an automated fabrication line in concert with highly experienced glazers, we are able to achieve quick production, high precision and short lead times.We currently have an open position for a Sales Estimator & Project Manager. The Sales Estimator & Project Manager will manage all phases of glazing projects from quoting the project, initial design to final installation. The Sales Estimator & Project Manager will include overseeing project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost effective completion of the project. The Sales Estimator & Project Manager will work closely with the external customers, building owners, general contractors and architects. This position is the principal liaison between Lensing Architectural Sales and these customers.If you have experience in the construction industry and take pride in a job well done, this might be the job for you! DutiesComplete estimates based on architectural drawings, specifications and the company's cost structure.Provide quotes according to bid dates.Follow-up on bids, face-to-face to close contracts and build strong business relationships.Focus on existing customers and on developing new customers.Review architectural specifications compared to shop drawings for accuracy and completeness.Strive for value engineering with product selection and installation efficiencies.Take the primary responsibility for the awarded project to make sure both material fabrication and installation schedules are achieved. This includes understanding how the project was bid, installation type, products and systems used, possible conflicts, committed vendors and any other pertinent information to meet or beat the estimate.Coordinate project with all members of the project.Maintain an attitude that is positive and supportive of others leading by example in work ethic, communications and attitude.
RequirementsMinimum of 5 years' construction industry experience or a degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Business or a related field.Ability to read blue prints Proven ability to promote and sell projects with a variety of products on all sizes of projects in the new and remodel commercial market segments.Ability to relate to architects, general contractors, developers and building owners.Mechanical aptitude with a general understanding of application engineering and the building sciences.Appreciation for high quality, professionalism, profitability and above average performance communicated by personal example.Proficiency with Microsoft Office as well as in-depth working knowledge of computers and related software. Experience with Auto Cad a plusAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be self-motivated, energetic and results oriented with a high level of work intensity and a bias for action.Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure scheduled deadlines are met.
