SUPERVISOR: Maintenance Supervisor
SUMMARY
The purpose of the Maintenance Helper position is assist the Maintenance Supervisor is maintaining a safe and functional physical environment for residents and facility staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following represents the essential functions of the Maintenance Helper's role. This list is intended to be a general description of duties and responsibilities; however, it is subject to change according to the needs of the facility determined by the Administrator and/or Corporate Designee.
Performs the facility maintenance under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.Keeps the physical plant in safe, working order. Keeps Maintenance Supervisor informed of the status of facility maintenance projects. Makes repairs timely and as efficiently as possible. Checks maintenance log daily and completes tasks as instructed by Supervisor. Is familiar with Louisiana Department of Health and State Fire Marshall regulations regarding maintenance. Especially, Life Safety Code requirements. Maintains overall appearance of facility physical plant. May obtain quotes for physical plant improvements. Supervises contract work when needed.Establishes and maintains accurate records of maintenance activities. Identifies and corrects safety hazards. May pressure wash building exterior, patios, driveways, and sidewalks. May repaint parking lot lines. Properly uses and stores maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.Identify and correct potential safety hazards. Informing Maintenance Supervisor of departmental needs and defective equipment. Periodically assess equipment for replacement/repair.Practice conservation in using supplies and equipment. Do not utilize supplies outside of manufacturers specifications.Maintain safeguards for the care, storage, cleanliness, and use of supplies, tools, and equipment. Round the facility checking areas and equipment for cleanliness and operation.Facility uses lock out/tag out policy/ procedure to ensure staff and resident safety. May assist in moving residents from room to room and preparing rooms for new admits. For a shelter-in-place emergency, the Maintenance Helper may be required to stay on the premises. For an evacuation emergency, Maintenance Helper may be called out to assist or travel with residents to new locations. Maintenance Helper may also return to the facility with the Maintenance Supervisor to observe damage and condition of the physical plant after an evacuation. The Maintenance Helper will assist with facility emergency preparedness in the event of a foreseen emergency. The Maintenance Helper may participate in Daily QA (morning) Meetings, Monthly/ Quarterly QA, Resident Council Meetings if requested, Care Plan Meetings upon request, in-service trainings, continuing education programs, and all other meetings called by Legacy or licensing entities. Member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT Team). May serves on the facility's Safety Committee.May assist in set up for activities.Maintenance Supervisor and Helper may rotate being on-call. If so, facility staff should be given information on who to call in the event maintenance is needed. Must act in ways that promote professional and positive representation of the facility to the community. Communicates in a professional and courteous manner using effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills with residents, their families, co-workers, and vendors. Maintains confidentiality of department, resident, employee information, communication, and documentation as well as compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. Records working hours per company policy. Clocks in and out for all working/training hours. Maintain compliance with Legacy's Compliance program and plan. POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of the Assists the Director of Nursing (ADON) position is provide support and oversight to the nursing department by organizing and managing nursing services provided by the facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following represents the essential functions of the Assistant Director of Nursing's role. This list is intended to be a general description of duties and responsibilities; however, it is subject to change according to the needs of the facility determined by the Administrator and/or corporate designee.
Assists the DON in the supervision of nursing care and nursing staff.The ADON participates in Daily QA (morning) Meetings, Monthly/ Quarterly QA, Safety Committee Meetings, High Risk Meetings, Resident Council Meetings when requested, Care Plan Meetings, in-service trainings, continuing education programs, and all other meetings called by Legacy or licensing entities.The ADON assists in management, delegation, and contribution to nursing department programs such as weights, infection control, incidents and accidents, gradual dose reductions, etc.Assists in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and scope of practice.Supervisory responsibilities include:Interviews, recommends, hires, and trains employees.Plans, assigns, and directs work.Prepares schedule, taking into consideration resident needs and safety, experience, knowledge, and ability of the persons to whom the assignments are made.Receives calls and finds helps replacements for absent staff. Notifies the DON and/or Administrator of staffing concerns and prepares a plan to resolve them.Transfers employees among units as needed.Prepares performance evaluations with the understanding that such evaluations impact tenure of probationary employees and wage increases of non-probationary employees.Meaningfully rewards and disciplines employees with the understanding that such discipline results in termination of employment through progressive steps.Schedules lunch and break times to meet the needs of the residents and staff.Approves the correction of errors in timecards or other timekeeping records.Authorizes overtime with DON and/ or Administrator discretion.Receives and helps resolve residents and employee complaints.Determines rotation of employees within facility.Monitors and corrects job performance of employees.Oversees facility in absence of higher-ranking management officials. Director of Reimbursement and Quality assumes puts measures in place to meet regulatory and legal requirements. Maintains accurate records of various regulatory inspection (fire inspections), fire drills, etc. Assure compliance with applicable governmental regulations and company standards. Maintains overall appearance of facility physical plant. May obtain quotes for physical plant improvements. Supervises contract work. Establishes and maintains accurate records of maintenance activities. Identifies and corrects safety hazards. Oversees maintenance of lawn, landscaping, and building exterior. May pressure wash building exterior, patios, driveways, and sidewalks. May repaint parking lot lines. Maintains record of purchases and inventories of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.Identify and correct potential safety hazards. Assist in identifying/selecting appropriate supply vendors. Informing Administrator and/or Corporate Designee of departmental needs, defective equipment, and places orders. Follow and implement maintenance policies and procedures. Periodically assess equipment for replacement/repair.Practice conservation in using supplies and equipment. Do not utilize equipment or supplies outside of manufacturers specifications.Dispense supplies according to need. Maintain MSDS sheets according to requirements. Maintain safeguards for the care, storage, cleanliness, and use of supplies, tools, and equipment. Round the facility checking areas and equipment for cleanliness and operation.Facility uses lock out/tag out policy/ procedure to ensure staff and resident safety. May assist in moving residents from room to room and preparing rooms for new admits. May assist in set up for activities.Will review facility maintenance log and complete tasks in order of priority. Will encourage staff to log or report maintenance issues timely. For a shelter-in-place emergency, the Maintenance Supervisor may be required to stay on the premises. Maintenance Supervisor will also be the first to return to the facility to observe damage and condition of the physical plant. Maintenance Supervisor will give (with the assistance of public officials) the "all clear" for residents to return to the facility. The Maintenance Supervisor will assist with facility emergency preparedness in the event of a foreseen emergency. The Maintenance Supervisor may participate in Daily QA (morning) Meetings, Monthly/ Quarterly QA, Resident Council Meetings if requested, Care Plan Meetings upon request, in-service trainings, continuing education programs, and all other meetings called by Legacy or licensing entities.
