ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients.
Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:Must be licensed in Texas as an MD or DO.Must have active DEA.Successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency or clinical fellowship in OB/GYN; a current certification in OB/GYN by the ABOG or the AOBOG that indicates passing of the written and oral examinations. The session begins in February 2025. Must commit to completing the 1700-hour requirement by August 31, 2025. The bi-weekly (every two weeks) stipend is $700, less applicable taxes.

About the Position
The AmeriCorps Member - Community Health Worker (Chronic Disease Education) supports the linkage of patients to Legacy's available chronic disease management and chronic disease prevention patient education services.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide health education and screenings with a goal of increasing health outcomes and access to care. Deliver health education sessions relevant to the communities in which they serve. Education will include, but is not limited to, diabetes, maternal/child morbidity and mortality, cancer, family planning, and HIV. Conduct health screenings including diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, sexual health, etc. Facilitate primary and preventative care appointments at Legacy for individuals with any identified health care needs. Engage in health fairs, community meetings, and presentations to increase community reach. Perform other duties as assigned.
In addition to the activities above, all Legacy Community Health Corps Members will:Represent Legacy’s AmeriCorps Program by wearing the AmeriCorps logo dailyIn the event of a local, state, or federal disaster declaration, AmeriCorps members may be asked on a volunteer basis or be required by OneStar to activate to assist in disaster response and recovery activities within their communities. This may involve virtual service opportunities or in-person service opportunities. This may include service opportunities outside of the member’s standard service hours or in place of their standard service duties. In the event of a large-scale, high needs local, state, or federal disaster, AmeriCorps members may voluntarily or be required by OneStar to deploy to an area outside of their service area to assist in disaster response and recovery activities.Nonessential Functions: Legacy Community Health Corps Members may have opportunities to engage in the following activities:Work with community partners to identify service opportunities in alignment with the program design.Members may be asked to perform other position-related instructions within the scope of their normal service activities as requested by their site supervisor and/or AmeriCorps program staff in alignment with the grant and not unallowable or prohibited activities and subject to reasonable accommodation.Provide translation and interpretation services as appropriate About Legacy Community HealthLegacy Community Health is a premium, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive care to community members regardless of their ability to pay.
