    A large furniture retailer in the Dallas area is looking for candidates for our Furniture Repair Apprenticeship program. Previous experience in the trade is not a requirement to apply or be accepted. Our Apprenticeship program is designed to teach the skill set necessary to become a full-time trained Furniture Repair Technician in the next 12 months. This is a full-time paid apprenticeship


    Starting Pay: $16 to $17 an hour, depending on previous work experience.

    Hours: Monday to Friday: 7:00 to 3:30 – will require some occasional Saturdays.


    Requirements:

    1 Year: Skill Evaluation for Wage Increase and the opportunity to become a full-time repair technician with a pay increase at that time.

    Warehouse Associate

    Job Description

    The Warehouse Associate is responsible for all phases of preparing the furniture for delivery or customer pickup. This entails unboxing, assembly, inspection and minor product adjustments. This associate will receive, ship and store products at times.

    Key responsibilities:

    Prepare and unbox the product to La-Z-Boy specificationsAssist in the loading and unloading of furniture and accessories on and off trucks, which includes operating power equipment on occasionOccasionally move up to 350lbs on a two-wheel dollyReview the product against the paperwork to check for order completeness and accuracyAssist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouseReceive all incoming products by opening and reviewingthe contents for quantity and conditionUnderstand internal control procedures for the process of receiving product against purchase orders and packing slips and actions to reconcileWarehouse associates will be responsible for scanning furniture when receiving, moving, or loading into the computer system. Receive returned furniture from the delivery trucks and place it in the correct location. Ensure that all products to be sent back tothe vendor is properly packaged and all corresponding paperwork is attachedComply with all safety regulations established by the company

    Minimal travel

    Other duties as assigned on a day-to-day basis

    Minimum Job Qualifications:

    Any combination of training and experience that is equivalent to graduation from high school

    Any experience in delivery, warehousing, receiving, issuing, packing, shipping and /or storage of goods preferred but not required

    An understanding of the proper methods and procedures used in safe receiving, storing, requisitions, shipping and delivery. Basic knowledge of inventory procedures

    Self-management to demonstrate self-control and the ability to manage time and priorities

    Must be able and willing to work collaboratively and effectively with the team

    Goal orientation: energetically focuses efforts on meeting a goal, mission or objective
