    Craftsman Fitter / Millwright

    Position Summary: Lean Synergy Solutions is seeking an experienced Craftsman Fitter / Millwright to support diesel power generation operations at U.S. military facilities in the Marshall Islands. This role performs hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and auxiliary power plant systems in a remote OCONUS environment, supporting facilities ranging from 5–85 MW+. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with strong safety discipline, power plant or industrial maintenance experience, and the ability to operate in a mission-critical setting.

    Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract

    Key Responsibilities:

    Power Plant & Mechanical Operations

    Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, condition monitoring, troubleshooting, corrective and emergency repairs on:Saltwater cooling systemsAir compressors and air dryersPumps, actuators, servo mechanisms, and auxiliary power plant equipmentSupport operation and maintenance of diesel-driven power generation facilities (5–85 MW+).Assist with power plant operations when required, including:Bringing generators online/offlineSynchronizing and paralleling gensetsTaking hourly generator readingsFueling operationsElectrical distribution installation and maintenanceDisassemble, repair, modify, assemble, bench test, and reinstall electromechanical equipment.Repair or replace brushes, seals, bearings, gears, shafts, housings, and FRP/metal piping.Inspect and service gears, clutches, bearings, governors, switches, rectifiers, relays, and related components.

    Electrical & Safety Compliance

    Ensure proper testing, isolation, and Lockout/Tagout procedures are followed.Diagnose equipment failures using data readings and test equipment.Use voltmeters, ohmmeters, multimeters, micrometers, welders, and standard hand tools.Enforce OSHA, NFPA (including NFPA 70E), US Military, Host Nation, Prime Contractor, and VGS safety standards.Attend daily safety meetings and stand-downs.Rescue injured personnel from electrical conductors when required.

    Supervision, Communication & Documentation

    Report to the Power Plant Manager and/or Utilities Manager.Communicate equipment failures, causes, and required repairs to supervisors.Coordinate with Journeyman/Master Electricians on auxiliary electrical issues.Maintain technical libraries, records, and maintenance documentation.Ensure timely submission of reports and documentation.Participate in departmental meetings and risk identification.Assist with procurement by identifying parts, model data, and technical specifications.Retrieve materials from consolidated warehouses and transport to work sites.

    Leadership & Team Support

    Ensure junior team members perform work to quality and manufacturer standards.Enforce training programs, safety practices, work ethics, and company policies.Promote a safety-first, team-oriented work environment.Support facility custodianship of work areas and tools.

    Qualifications:

    U.S. CitizenMinimum 5 years of experience as a Fitter, Pipefitter, or Millwright.High school diploma or GED plus related technical training.NFPA 70E Electrical Safety training completed within the last year (certificate required).First Aid & CPR certification.Knowledge and execution of Lockout/Tagout procedures.Ability to rescue personnel from energized electrical conductors.Experience working in international environments with U.S. military or expatriate teams.Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Proficiency working with FRP and metal piping systems.Ability to read and apply:

    ? Manufacturer manuals

    ? Drawings and specifications

    ? O&M manuals

    ? SOPs and emergency response procedures

    ? MSDS documentation

    Strong troubleshooting and deductive reasoning skills with step-by-step feedback.Intermediate Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel skills (advanced preferred).Willingness to attend OEM, controls, and formal training as required.Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.Customer-service oriented with the ability to multitask.Fluent in spoken and written English.Computer proficiency and ability to operate common software programs.Valid driver's license (home country) – minimum 12 months validity.Valid passport with:

    ? Minimum 12 months validity

    ? At least 6 blank pages prior to OCONUS mobilization.

    Meet USARPAC Force Health Protection medical requirements and maintain annual MQ status.CAC eligible and able to maintain access to U.S. military installations.Physically capable of:Heavy liftingWorking overhead with arms raisedClimbing, crawling, and working in confined or outdoor environments.

    Preferred Skills:

    Experience training and mentoring other technicians.Familiarity with electrical controls and wiring systems.Experience enforcing environmental and HazMat compliance in military settings.

    Location & Compensation:

    ? Location: Kwajalein & Roi-Namur, Marshall Islands (OCONUS)

    ? Total Estimated Compensation: $130,000-$139,000 annually
