Operations Manager This Operations Manager will oversee two LCMC laboratories- West Jefferson and Touro Infirmary. The Manager of Laboratory Operations is responsible for the general administration of the laboratory on a day-to-day basis. Maintains specific responsibilities in the areas of test pricing and review, compliance, human resource scheduling/allocation, supply and equipment acquisition, system maintenance and reports, quality/performance improvement projects, assistance with clerical/phlebotomy supervision and off-site laboratory oversight. Keeps abreast of regulatory and accreditation issues, making recommendations and implementing change accordingly. General Duties Organizes, implements, directs, evaluates the organization's laboratory operations and performance. Coordinates collection protocols for special or infrequently ordered test procedures for the assigned section. Ensures timely and accurate preparation of the samples for testing including centrifugation, slide preparation, slide staining and loading the instruments to achieve the required outcome. Assists pathologists with special hematology, coagulation and chemistry needs and requirements. Ensures that all necessary remedial actions are taken and documented whenever significant deviations from the labs established performance specifications are identified and that patient test results are reported only when the system is functioning properly. Performs accessioning and receipt of specimens. Performs functions associated with send out tests to include pending orders and researching any additional information to facilitate timely reporting. Complies with all hospital and departmental policies, procedures and programs. Demonstrates commitment to continuous quality improvement while tracking, monitoring and evaluating the department's compliance with regulatory agencies. Prepares accurate and timely reports (budget, variance, etc.) and identifies ways of improving financial results. Experience Qualifications 5 years of experience in Clinical Laboratory Science with 2 years experience in leadership.
