    POSITION TITLE: Paralegal (Estate Planning and Probate)


    SALARY: $66,000


    SUMMARY: The essential function is to provide case management support to an established solo-practitioner attorney, including: Wills, Trusts, Estates, Probate & Guardianship.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


    1) Organizing client files;

    2) Meeting Court and law office deadlines;

    3) Document and word processing preparation, including drafting court documents;

    4) Processing Inbound/outbound mail;

    5) Answering and making phone calls; and

    6) Scheduling appointments and calendaring case specific events, such as filing deadlines and hearings.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ideal candidate must be responsible, organized, and efficient. Position offered is full time, in-person and is a small law office setting (solo attorney). Must be able to work in person at attorney's law office located in South Tampa.* Paralegal will work closely and directly with Attorney, daily and must be able to work independently and have knowledge of Florida probate law and procedures. Communication skills to positively represent the Law Office successfully and clearly are important. Must be able to work independently and as a team member. Attention to detail is required.


    Ideal candidate must have 2 years of college or vocational school education in paralegal, secretarial skills, computer operation or similar field and at least 3 years experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or clerk (in law firm setting or courthouse or combination of the two). Probate or family law experience is required.

    *The essential and daily functions of the Job for Paralegal must be performed in person. To maintain workflow and to meet the essential and minimum requirements of the position, the qualified candidate must be able to work in person during normal business hours (Monday through Friday; 8:00 am – 5 pm). Lunch is from 12 pm to 1 pm.

    LEGAL ASSISTANT — Small Estate Planning & Probate Law Office (South Tampa)

    Compensation: $48,000–$56,000 per year, depending on experience

    About the Office

    This is a solo attorney's practice in South Tampa focused on wills, trusts, estates, probate, guardianship, and trust administration, including contested probate litigation. The office is small: one attorney, one legal assistant. The work is varied, and the legal assistant carries real responsibility across every case.

    You will work directly with the attorney daily and see cases from intake to closing.

    Looking For

    2+ years in a law office, courthouse, or comparable professional settingFlorida probate or estate planning experience strongly preferred — the attorney will train the right candidate with solid fundamentalsStrong writing, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and standard office technologyAssociate degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent training a plus

    Schedule & Location

    Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., in person at our South Tampa office. 1 hour for lunch (12- 1 pm). The role supports daily operations and cannot be performed remotely. Occasional travel to the Hillsborough County courthouse.
