Manage daily drivers electronic log, plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Comply with Department of Transportation rules and regulations for size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods as well as with company policies and procedures. Perform required pre and post trip vehicle inspections identifying any potential mechanical or safety issues. Must maintain truck, trailer, and securement devices in a neat and orderly fashion. Maintain vehicle logbook and retain fuel/toll receipts to account for all miles driven. Report downtime availability to your immediate Supervisor. Ensure that all parts being picked up from a vendor or customer are accounted for and reflected on the packing list and/or invoice before you sign for them. Secure load to DOT requirements, using proper flagging methods and tarp when required. Ensure that you obtain a receipt for all parts being returned to a vendor. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions and must obey all yard and worksite safety rules. Couple and uncouple semi-trailers as required. Operate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all traffic rules regulations and laws.
