The Opportunity:
As part of our continued success, Landau Associates is seeking an experienced sediment remediation engineer to support our expanding sediment investigation and remediation team. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of consulting experience, with deep expertise in investigation and engineering for both public and private-sector clients. This position will be based in one of our offices in Oregon or Washington. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative, project-team environment—someone who can both support colleagues and effectively engage their support to meet the diverse needs of our projects. Qualified candidates will have a background in the following:
Knowledge and experience designing and implementing investigations and remedial strategies under governing regional guidelines (Washington SMS, Oregon DEQ, Sediment Management Standards/Sediment Cleanup User's Manual, Army Corps of Engineers’ Dredge Materials Management Program, etc.)Experience with integrating in-water and upland investigation and remedial strategies, including permitting requirements, agency and stakeholder negotiations, source control, site restoration/redevelopment, and land use considerations, etc.Experience with planning and managing investigations and remedial design programs under state and Federal regulations (e.g., CERCLA, etc.) in the Pacific NorthwestKey Responsibilities:
Performing engineering analyses/evaluations for a range of multi-disciplinary projects, including application of innovative sediment remediation technologies, waterfront development/reuse, site/shoreline restoration, and source control projectsPreparing remedy design documents and supporting deliverables, including engineering calculations, cost estimates, bases of design reports, and integrated design and specifications packagesEvaluate the fate and transport of environmental contaminants in various matrices with an emphasis on the protection of marine and freshwater sedimentsProject and task management, including team assignments and coordination, client management, and financial administration Overall program strategic development, including further development of teaming partner relationships, client business development, internal team integration and collaboration, etc.Plan, coordinate, and oversee implementation of multi-media field investigation programs, including field team and subcontractor management, laboratory engagement, quality assurance review, and characterization reporting.Mentoring, supervision, and training of early-career and mid-level staff on engineering principles and design, depending on existing experience levelPreferred Qualifications:
BS or MS in environmental or civil engineeringPE registration in Washington or Oregon preferred15+ years of experience in planning and designing sediment remediation projects, contaminated site investigation and remediation programs, and/or shoreline infrastructure and restoration programsKnowledge and experience with State and Federal environmental regulations and their application in the Pacific NorthwestClear and concise communication skillsExceptional attention to detail, while maintaining the ability to view multiple, simultaneous projects in the context of big picture goals and objectives.Ability to travel regionally for project team meetings and oversight)What We Offer:
Landau Associates offers an excellent compensation and benefits package in an environment that promotes personal growth and professional advancement. The salary range for this position is $150,000 – $205,000. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including education, experience, performance, location, and internal equity.
