    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Business Relationship Manager is responsible for the overall growth and engagement of the Lancaster Chamber’s Membership and Investment model.  Additionally, this role encompasses ensuring Chamber members understand the value proposition associated with their membership, enjoy a positive and rewarding membership journey, grow their existing membership investment, and renew their membership on an annual or monthly basis.

    Key functions of this position include identifying and recruiting new members, retaining current members, growing existing member relationships, and attaining/exceeding monthly and yearly membership sales goals.  The BRM will also engage in strategic and regular communications regarding Chamber member dues, identify sponsorship and advertising opportunities and execute timely collection of all dues payments. By leading with the Chamber’s mission, the BRM will create new and steward existing relationships to deliver exceptional value and service to all Lancaster Chamber Members, Non-Members, and businesses in the community.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


    Perform job functions according to the below outlined retention and sales process, focusing on consultative sales and retention methods: Build strong, effective, and positive working relationships with Chamber members to maximize their experience leading to timely retention.Execute and deliver a 90% achievement rate with a Chamber member retention process, including the Chamber’s Member Journey.Achieve monthly/quarterly/yearly sales and retention goals; monitor personal efforts and activities and make appropriate adjustments to achieve success.Reach out to new members and identify and retain high-risk members, as well as formulate a strategy for engagement and retention.Work with Business Development Team to ensure a positive onboarding experience for all new members.Identify development opportunities, including membership sales, Cost Savings Products, sponsorships, event and program attendance, and Chamber advertising for both current and new members.Communicate regularly with the Director of Business Development and Chamber staff to proactively identify and address “aging” accounts and, when necessary, reactively address “at-risk” members and dropped accounts.Conduct presentations with current members, sharing overall value of Chamber engagement opportunities.Establish and cultivate relationships in the business community on behalf of the Lancaster Chamber.Assist in the execution of Ribbon Cuttings, Chamber Open Houses, and other membership engagement activities.Establish relationships with staff members, volunteers and Chamber members for a collaborative referral process.Collaborate with Chamber Team and staff members towards achievement of sponsorship, event and program attendance for Chamber events.Manage and coordinate the recruitment and retention efforts of The Chamber Ambassadors.Assist in Chamber events and activities that may serve as potential recruitment and/or retention opportunities.Serve as a speaker at various community organizations’ events as a representative of The Chamber.Attend Chamber events as required.

     


    ADDITIONAL REQUIRED DUTIES:

    Achieve monthly sales goals.

    Achieve weekly appointment targets.

    Attend weekly Sales team meetings.

    Attend regular staff meetings.

    Collaborate with internal staff.

     

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience that demonstrates the capability to complete all listed responsibilities.

    At least three years’ experience in sales, business development, and relationship management.


    TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS:

    Capability to quickly learn a CRM database system.

    Moderate to extensive knowledge of Microsoft applications.

    Moderate to extensive capability to conduct research using multiple platforms to gather information about businesses and individuals in the business community.

     

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Ability to speak in front of groups and individuals at all levels of business to conduct member presentations.

    Excellent customer service.

    Ability to collaborate with internal Team Members.

    Excellent interpersonal skills.

    Ability to multi-task; establish priorities and develop relationships.

    Must be comfortable working with all levels of staff (internal/external),

    volunteers and members.

    Motivated and driven to succeed.

    A valid driver’s license is required.

    JOB SUMMARY: The Workforce & Education Manager develops and implements workforce initiatives that align business needs with education and talent pipeline strategies. This role leads the Discovering Paths mentoring program and the Inspire Lancaster platform to expand work-based learning opportunities and strengthen employer engagement. Responsibilities include building strategic partnerships, managing advisory groups, coordinating workforce programming, and securing resources that support long-term impact. The Workforce & Education Manager serves as a key connector between employers, educators, and community stakeholders to address current and future workforce needs.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    General Workforce Development:
    Manage the Workforce Advisory Group
    Create and implement career readiness workshops for selected partnerships
    Serve as a representative of the Lancaster Chamber at relevant K-12th or post-secondary programming and initiatives (i.e., career exploration fairs, school career fairs, etc.)
    Build and manage relationships with collaborative partners
    Research and implement any additional workforce/business/education partnership related funding streams (i.e. grants or ExtraGIVE)

    Discovering Paths Mentoring Program:
    Manage the coordination and facilitation of the Discovering Paths high school mentoring and career exploration program, including but not limited to:
    Coordinate the student experience from recruitment through graduation, including job shadows, student data management, and relationship building.
    Develop and maintain relationships with schools, educators, and other key partners.
    Manage the mentor experience from recruitment through graduation, including attaining clearances, training, data management, and student relationship support.
    Support the Marketing & Communications Department with creative brainstorming and promotional strategies for mentor, student, and sponsor recruitment.
    Develop, align, and build curriculum for career exploration and workforce readiness activities within the program.
    Plan and implement program logistics - facilities procurement, technology, equipment, budget, and other program elements.
    Engage the business community in career exploration opportunities, including job shadows, mentoring, and program participation.
    Provide classroom management and facilitation during onsite programming.
    Manage the Discovering Paths Advisory Group and program liaisons.

    Inspire Lancaster:
    Manage the Inspire Lancaster platform, a tool to connect business and education for career exploration opportunities.
    Communicate the vision and value of the Inspire Lancaster platform and work-based learning opportunities to key stakeholders.
    Develop and maintain processes to recruit and retain businesses to participate in the platform.
    Provide customer service and support to platform users, including assisting educators in identifying appropriate opportunities for students and connecting businesses with relevant school district partners.
    Monitor platform performance, identify bugs or issues, and recommend enhancements that improve the user experience and platform effectiveness.
    Distribute relevant work-based learning information and updates to platform participants.
    Develop and maintain Inspire Lancaster-branded resources that support businesses in offering work-based and experiential learning opportunities.
    Provide strategic input on campaigns, communications, and outreach efforts that increase business engagement.
    Engage Discovering Paths students, mentors, and other stakeholders with the Inspire Lancaster platform where appropriate.


    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


    EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
    3-5 years of related experience in event or program development and management, workforce development, youth programming, or a related field.
    Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered; Bachelors degree preferred
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep track of the details.
    Takes initiative, demonstrates ownership, and follows through on commitments.

    The Role

    The Business Development & Partnerships Leader will own Tandems business development and sales process from end to end generating awareness, cultivating relationships, creating qualified opportunities, and guiding prospective clients through Tandems sales journey. You will be the primary ambassador for the Tandem Model for Direct Employee Ownership, both in your local region and at the national level.

    This role requires comfort with ambiguity, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a genuine passion for using business as a force for good. You will work directly alongside the Executive Director and Director of Client Services to advance Tandems mission and drive its long-term growth.



    Job Summary

    Business Development & Awareness


    Build and maintain a strong in-person presence throughout your local area and surrounding regions, establishing Tandem as the go-to resource for Direct Employee Ownership.Develop relationships with business owners, executives, professional advisors, and community leaders who can benefit from or refer to Tandem.Represent Tandem at networking events, conferences, workshops, and educational programs locally and nationally.Develop and execute outreach strategies that generate awareness and a pipeline of qualified leads.Serve as the primary liaison to Tandem's Marketing Committee and marketing partners, helping align marketing, business development, partnerships, and awareness-building efforts to drive organizational growth.Deliver presentations, workshops, webinars, and educational sessions on Direct Employee Ownership, Profit Sharing, Employee Engagement, and Tandems 5-Phase Process.

    Strategic Partnerships

    Identify, establish, and grow partnerships with organizations that can generate qualified opportunities and amplify Tandems reach.Cultivate referral relationships with attorneys, accountants, valuation firms, consultants, employee ownership organizations, chambers of commerce, peer groups, and other value-add partners.Attend occasional national conferences on employee ownership and other relevant industries to build Tandems national presence and partnerships.

    Sales Process & Pipeline Management

    Serve as Tandems primary lead for Explore Meetings with prospective clients, both locally and nationally.Qualify opportunities based on fit, need, timing, decision-making process, budget, and Tandems Core Values.Guide prospective clients through the Explore stage of Tandems sales process and prepare and present proposals.Own the full sales process from lead generation through signed agreements working closely with the Executive Director and Director of Client Services to ensure smooth handoffs to implementation.Maintain accurate opportunity records, forecasting information, and next steps within HubSpot.Track key sales metrics, report performance to the Executive Director, and help strengthen and refine Tandems business development systems, tools, templates, and processes.

    Requirements and Skills

    Education

    4-Year Degree and/or equivalent experience.

    Experience

    5+ years of experience in business development, sales, relationship management, consulting, professional services, fundraising, partnership development, or a related field.Demonstrated success building relationships and generating new business opportunities.Experience facilitating executive-level conversations and consultative sales discussions.Public speaking, presentation, and workshop facilitation experience preferred.Experience with business succession planning, employee ownership, startups, or nonprofit organizations is a plus
