Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Production Operator based in Belmont, Wiconsin. Production team members are responsible for working in a variety of cheese making production functions to ensure continuous and efficient line operation. Candidates must be able to work over 40 hours per week (weekends are required). This job is physical and fast-paced. Key responsibilities for this position include: Meet efficiency budget levels with maintaining a high quality product Must remove and load trays/molds Stage bascular with appropriate cookie sheets Complete repetition task, ensuring the even spread of curd into appropriate mold Pull cheese on to draining room tables from chariot Ensure all whey pipes are properly hooked up Turn cheese in draining rooms Run machines (ex: stacker(s), unmolder, rack washer) Place racks on unmolding conveyor Weigh cheese Complete paperwork as assigned, accurately and legible Maintain open line of communication with all line workers and room supervisor Perform sanitation duties as assigned Keep work area clean and organized Report production problems and/or concerns to the on duty supervisor Attend departmental meetings and training as assigned by the supervisor and/or manager Apply the safety rules and ensure they are implemented and followed Apply the Good Manufacturing Practices Standard Perform other work duties as assigned Candidate must have the following attributes/skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy, personal qualities of tact and dependability, possess good manual dexterity, able to push/pull/lift and carry at least 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally, be able to stand for entire shift, be able to perform repetitive movements (e.g. twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching). Education: High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) is preferred Experience: Previous employment in a food industry setting is preferred Knowledge of: Basic mathematical skills are required (must be able to calculate averages) Skills/Abilities: Strong attention to detail and accuracy Manual dexterity Vision abilities (close, distance color and ability to focus) Push/pull/lift and carry at least 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally, Stand for entire shift Perform repetitive movements (e.g. twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching) Pay: $24.55/hour or more, dependent upon skills and experience. From your PASSION to ours Lactalis Heritage Dairy, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Production Supervisor based in Tulare, CA. Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor directs activities of the department in areas of Production, Maintenance and Quality Control. The Production Supervisor is to produce products efficiently and safely within established policy and processes. He/She advises and assists Production Manager as a member of the team and may assume Production Manager responsibilities in his/her absence. From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include: Implements and enforces safety programs and safe work practices through involvement in plant safety teams, programs, and initiatives. Partner with the Production Manager and other site leaders to achieve productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, quality, safety, and employee engagement objectives through both individual and team contributions. Meet production schedules in order to achieve business goals. Assures production yields and efficiencies are met as defined by budgetary and corporate standards. Provides direction, leadership, development, and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments, and continuous improvement projects and initiatives. Proactively communicates and coordinates with other supervisors and functions to optimize operations and resources. Builds strong working relationships and fosters positive collaboration within the team and cross-functionally. Trains and develops team members through mentoring/coaching. Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Maintenance Manager based in Buffalo, NY. Summary: Responsible for all daily Maintenance functions in support of the Plant including coordination and activities of the Maintenance Supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, production and packaging areas and related equipment, warehouse areas, office areas, and grounds. Planning and evaluation of all Maintenance activities will be part of this responsibility. Will need to be able to work effectively with all levels of plant management regarding any Maintenance issues. Effective coordination and communications with all plant personnel is of utmost importance. Technical ability to assess systems for re-engineering or troubleshooting at both hands-on levels and Engineering levels. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following Cooperate with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and goals. Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures. Responsible for setting up and managing systems for preventative maintenance for the manufacturing operation. Responsible for the complete Maintenance system including Preventive and daily maintenance activities. Recruits and develops staff with the necessary skills to support the maintenance responsibilities for the plant. Pro-actively communicates and responds to employee questions and concerns. Daily "coaching" of all levels in the department and coordination of engineering needs, parts, PM, reactive maintenance, down day coordination, and reporting of events. Continues to access skill levels and recommends developmental activities as appropriate. Continually evaluates the capabilities of the maintenance department relating to equipment, tools and other items necessary to provide a satisfactory level of service to the plant. Will recommend, as appropriate, upgrades. Will monitor maintenance department effectiveness and efficiency constantly and make improvements. Manages maintenance level projects. Continually analyzes department budget with the Plant Director. Ensures proper documentation is provided for justification. Develops a variety of systems and methods to measure effectiveness of the maintenance department. Continuously seeks new ways of improving performance and controlling costs. Operates with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures and goals. Collects and provides any data necessary for budget creation and implementation. Participates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations. Actively works on production floor to facilitate the exchange of data between various departments. Requirements Qualifications: Dairy or other food related experience preferred. Attention to detail and accuracy in work required. Strong communication abilities, written and verbal. Knowledge of computer software. Ability to administrate Maintenance Department projects and run projects effectively with attention to budget and scope. Education and/or Experience: Technical degree in Technical/Engineering discipline preferred. Personal qualities of tact, dependability and ability to work well with others are required.
