    Schedule is 5 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Thursday with mandatory overtime on Friday.
    This is a physically demanding, fast-paced job involving independent or team-based work to hand-build quality upholstered furniture. Drive, urgency, and self-motivation are needed to meet daily production goals. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting and moving at least 50 lbs, and using hands to grip, pull, and handle materials. Comfort with power tools, framing, and staple guns is essential.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Work in a team atmospherePerform any position within the cell as neededProper use of Kan Ban containers

    Upholster:

    Knock down all sharp corners of frameUse of staple gun to staple materialsUse of hammer to insert tack strip, panels, etcUse of staple puller to retract improper staplesUse of additional air tools to assemble components as necessary (drill, hog ring gun, hot glue gun, etc.)Ability to assemble furniture components by upholstery notes within specifications

    Frame:

    Use of frame gun to staple materialsProper glue and/or wax application per specificationUse of additional air tools to assemble components as necessary (drill, crimping gun, chisel tool, etc)Use of glue scraper for proper clean up

    Cushion Process:

    Validate unit cover to ticket in each batchCoordinate work flow in cellInsert stuffing materials into cover componentsUse of machine to seal and quiltUse of staple gun to staple materials

    Final Assembly:

    Assemble components into completed unitUse of staple gun to staple materialsUse of additional air tools to assemble components as necessary (drill, tack gun, etc)Oil mechanism as required by specificationScan ticket to show unit complete

    Packaging:

    Job Description:

    What You Can Expect:

    Job Description:

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

    Responsible for scheduling of work within the assigned team and area. Creates work documents for picking, moving, and shipping of merchandise. Maintains records and assignment lists of tasks performed throughout the day to minimize down-time and to create a record for accountability. Reconciles completed work for administrative completeness and processes final documents in assigned area(s). Keeps records of work performed vs. time to create comparative metrics.Maintain a constant dock presence inspecting work in progress. Works alongside warehouse staff often performing the identical tasks while evaluating and demonstrating proper techniques and disciplines. May on any given day perform the tasks of 'other' warehouse areas working in combination with other Leads or Supervision.Responsible for unloading, loading, deluxing and minor furniture repair and needed.Will have key and security access. Will oversee the building at times. Responsible for maintaining security and following RDC procedures for security access.Maximizes productivity of personnel by proper training of new staff or those that are revealed to need additional training.

    SCOPE & IMPACT: 

    Z-Dock may have zero to as many as ten people in this role depending on size and complexity. Sub-areas include the Delivery process, receiving, Inventory/returns/repairs. Buildings may have a stronger delineation depending on the number of people in this role but in almost every case there will be inter-play between assigned areas, especially to support rotating days off or weekends. Each of these people/departments will be assessed by the overall efficiency and minimal negative effects on customer accommodation and inventory.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

    High School Diploma or GED with 0-2 years of relevant experience, or equivalentForklift Operator CertificationTravel Required: None

    What You Can Expect:

    Training Pay: $16 per hour for 2-6 weeks (no commission)Average Annual Earning Potential After Training: $45,000 - $65,000+ (inclusive of base, bonus, and commission)The company will not pay less than state/local minimum wage requirements

    Post-Training Pay:

    Base Pay: $13 per hour (varies by store location)Commission & Bonus: Earn more with UNCAPPED commission on written sales - 3% on La-Z-Boy Design Sales and 2% on other sales, other than La-Z-Boy Design Sales. Quarterly bonus opportunity of $1,500, based on your ability to meet defined individual sales goals.

    Individual pay is based on various factors, including geographic location, personal performance and relevant qualifications, experience, and skills. By providing our salary ranges and compensation range details, we aim to foster understanding and confidence in our pay practices. Should the base rate plus the commissions earned during a performance period not be at or greater than location minimum wage requirements for the period, the company will make a minimum wage adjustment for the employee to be compliant with minimum wage for the location.

    Job Description:

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

    Drives Sales

    Contribute to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories and services offered by La‐Z‐BoyPromote the Design program & assist the Designer to achieve established Design program sales goalsConsistently execute the La‐Z‐Boy selling process and strive to provide a favorable experience to all customers.Develop and utilize sales skills and principals including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, customized portfolio presentations, answering objections, closing, follow‐up, after sale service and continuing contact with all previous and potential customersMaximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programsMaintain strong knowledge of the features and benefits of existing and new product lines

    Design Program

    Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs, including sample fabrics, furniture, tables and accessory recommendations as well as the benefits of a professional installation service.Execute and champion the Design process following the established company guidelinesResponsible for supporting design related functions in the store

    Customer Focus

    Provide the highest level of customer service to all current and future customersEnsure that each La‐Z‐Boy customer has an informative and positive experience by using good customer service skills and knowledge of products, while following the company selling processEffectively use Podium to ensure customer satisfaction and future follow‐upMake sound business decisions to deliver customer satisfaction and promote team environmentProvide support by being responsive to incoming phone calls and emailsAssist in handling customer issues and/or complaints.     Assist with maintenance of the overall visual appearance of store, this includes but is not limited to maintaining floor and/or showroom displays, tagging products and accessories, maintaining accessory catalogs and design center fabrics, supporting floor moves, and maintaining general store cleanlinessAccurately complete order information, collect deposits and fees, keep orderly customer records, and research customer payments and deliveriesResponsible for accurately completing daily On‐Point system logsShow a sense of urgency, enthusiasm and excitement with the store team and customersMaintain adequate knowledge of company standards, product knowledge and internal processes and systemsConsistently schedule deliveries with customersResponsible for opening and closing of the store

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
