Able to move to and from the flight line, work in an aircraft production environment, and board/exit aircraft as required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior Mechanical Engineering experience within the Aerospace industry. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior Mechanical Engineering experience within the Aerospace industry. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Minimum 4 years CAD skills (NX/Unigraphics preferred, ProE, Catia) Must be a US Citizen. Preferred Additional Skills: Active Secret security clearance. Familiar with aircraft systems or structure. Familiarity with aircraft structural repairs, STC's, or general aircraft modification. Excellent written, verbal, communication skills. This role involves strategic planning and management to ensure that all Business Area Programs technical activities are to the highest standards. The Chief Engineer is responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing complex engineering challenges, and ensuring that all projects meet all requirements while optimizing performance and cost-efficiency. The Business Area Chief Engineer will lead, oversee, and direct all engineering activities related to all aircraft modifications and engineering activities within the business area.
