    Scope of Work:

    Work will consist of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of telecommunication infrastructure, cabling, and associated materials and equipment within the telecom construction industry.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Perform task as directed by the Foreman/Operator, actually installing the work and handling the bulk of materials.  This employee should keep all materials, tools and equipment in an orderly fashion and keep the work area clean at all times, demonstrating safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment.

     

    Position Requirements:

    1.      Must be at least 18 years of age.

    2.      Provide birth certificate and current driver’s license.

    3.      Evidence of previous experience in construction field (if any).

    4.      Must meet base standard criminal background requirements.

    5.      Must meet the Employment Eligibility Verification of the United States Government’s    E-Verify Program.

     

     

    Licenses:      Current driver’s license and have own transportation (most job sites are not always served by public transportation).

     

    Testing:        Drug testing is required

    Working Conditions – All Elements Inside and Outside:

    1.      Job requires working in all elements (heat, cold, rain, snow), depending on job location and time of year.

    2.      Work from all type ladders (stepladders up to 14’, “A” frame ladders and all size extension ladders) and carry and relocate up to 12’ stepladder by one’s self.

    3.      Employee’s personal weight and personal tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladder (class 1 – 250 pounds, Class 1A – 300 pounds).

    4.      Perform work at various elevations, up to 12’ below ground in excavations and up to 90’ from ladders, aerial lifts, catwalks or other safe work areas.

    5.      Work in restricted areas (telecom room, underground manholes/vaults, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics).

    6.      Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, vests, safety glasses, and safety toe boots) at all times, respirator when required.

    7.      Repetitive use of limbs, hands, and fingers.

    8.      Able to work eight hours per day, forty hours per week, overtime and/or night sift, as required.

    Skills:

    1.      Positively identify existing utilities and warning ribbon.

    2.      Comprehends installation instructions.

    3.      Install conduit and bends (elbows).

    4.      Must use all power tools, saws, sledgehammer, post-driver, etc.

    5.      Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment.

    6.      Practices and comprehends safe work procedures, as outlined in company safety policy, excavation policy, confined space policy, and haz-com policy.

    7.      Operates two handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, tamps, pressure tools, and jack hammers.

    8.      Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmissions.

    9.      Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints and written instructions.

    Physical Functions:

    1.      Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead and to ground level.

    2.      Lift 51 pounds.

    3.      Constantly moving on your feet.

    4.      Climb ladders (all types).

    5.      Completing overhead and ground level work for full day assignments.

    6.      Must be able to transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of the construction area (including trenches), even if the only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladders, stairs, or ramps still under construction, but acceptable for use.

    7.      Possess good vision (normal or corrected).

    8.      Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete their assigned tasks.

    The Corporate Safety Manager leads the company's overall safety program across all divisions and active project sites, setting the strategic direction for making safety the organization's number one priority. This role owns the company's safety record, drives incident and near-miss reduction, builds and enforces a safety-first culture at every level of the workforce, and serves as the primary point of contact between the company, its insurance broker, outside safety consultants, and regulatory bodies (OSHA, and for federal work, EM 385-1-1 requirements). The Corporate Safety Manager also directs and supports division-level and project-level safety personnel, including the Electrical Safety Manager and any project-assigned (including contract) safety managers on individual jobs.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    •       Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company-wide safety program and policies across all divisions (commercial, federal, electrical, and craft operations).

    •       Set annual safety goals and strategy in coordination with executive leadership; report on progress at leadership and superintendent meetings.

    •       Own and report the company's safety record, including tracking incidents, near misses, and leading/lagging indicators over rolling periods (e.g., trailing 6-month and 12-month reviews).

    •       Lead root-cause investigations for incidents and near misses; drive corrective actions and follow-through across project teams.

    •       Build and reinforce a safety-first mentality across the workforce through training, toolbox talks, recognition programs, and visible leadership engagement on jobsites.

    •       Directly manage and support division/project-level safety staff, including the Electrical Safety Manager and project-assigned safety managers (including contract safety managers on individual projects such as project-specific hires).

    •       Define roles, responsibilities, and reporting structure for safety positions company-wide, and participate in the hiring and onboarding of safety personnel.

    •       Coordinate with the company's insurance broker on EMR management, claims trends, policy renewals, and loss-control recommendations (e.g., fleet safety technology/vendor selection).

    •       Partner with outside safety consultants/firms as needed to support candidate vetting, specialized audits, and safety program benchmarking.

    •       Ensure compliance with OSHA 1926 (Construction), OSHA 1910 (General Industry) as applicable, and EM 385-1-1 for federal projects.

    •       Work with HR on safety-related policy needs, including emerging requirements such as heat illness prevention/heat mitigation programs.

    •       Oversee jobsite audits and inspections across all divisions, ensuring consistent standards regardless of project type or location.

    •       Manage and report on the company's CMMC and other compliance-adjacent safety/security requirements as they intersect with federal contract obligations.

    •       Present safety updates, trends, and new strategies at leadership meetings and superintendent meetings on a recurring basis.

    •       Support new project mobilizations with site-specific safety plans (SSSPs/APPs), safety orientations, and hazard assessments.

    •       Manage the safety training calendar and ensure required certifications (OSHA 10/30, first aid/CPR, equipment-specific training, etc.) stay current company-wide.

    •       Drive efficiency and accuracy of daily job box talks and safety huddles.

    •       Conduct annual safety training and recertification efforts for all employees.

    •       Ensure all tools required for annual certification are tracked and processed in a timely fashion.

    •       Ensure that all fire extinguishers are recertified annually company wide.

    •       Ensure all project level employees are properly trained on and assigned appropriate PPE as required.

    Required Qualifications

    •       Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.

    •       Minimum 7-10 years of construction safety experience, including at least 3 years in a multi-site or corporate-level safety leadership role.

    •       Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation strongly preferred; CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) also valued.

    •       OSHA 30-Hour Construction required; OSHA 500 (Trainer Course) strongly preferred.

    •       Demonstrated experience managing safety programs across multiple divisions or business lines, including electrical, mechanical, or other specialty trades.

    •       Experience with federal construction safety requirements (EM 385-1-1) required for companies performing NAVFAC/USACE work.

    •       Experience overseeing or coordinating with insurance brokers on EMR, claims, and loss control preferred.

    •       Prior experience of hiring, training, and managing safety staff or supervising a safety team.

    •       Strong presentation and communication skills; comfortable presenting safety performance and strategy to executive leadership and field superintendents.

    •       Proficient with safety management software, incident reporting systems, and Microsoft Office.

    •       Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly across all active project sites.

    •       Ability to navigate company software programs such spectrum project site and/or Procore.

    Physical Requirements & Work Environment

    •       Ability to work on active construction sites, including exposure to heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions.

    •       Ability to wear and properly use required PPE across a range of trade-specific hazards (electrical, fall protection, excavation, etc.).

    •       Ability to walk, stand, climb ladders/stairs, and navigate uneven terrain for extended periods during site audits.

    •       Frequent travel between project sites and corporate office; some overnight travel required.

    complete an assigned project.

    Ability to lift 75 pounds.
    Climb Ladders of all types and sizes.
    Ability to perform overhead work for full day assignments.
    Must be able to gain employee access to jobsites.
    Possess good vision either normally or corrected.
    Responsible for making sure all tools are stored in a safe place as designated by the jobsite
    Foreman.
    Ability to be constantly moving on your feet.

    Responsibilities:
    Performs all electrical tasks with minimal general supervision or direction. This employee may be
    part of a crew of journeyman and apprentices or the lead person supervising and directing the work
    of the crew.

    Licenses: Current driver’s license and have own transportation.

    Experience: Has five years or more of previous electrical experience.
    Testing: Drug Testing as required.

    Working Conditions: – Includes inside and outside in all elements of weather.
    Job requires working from all types of ladders, must have all required personal tools with them at all
    times including a tool belt to facilitate the proper placement of personal hand tools.
    Perform work at various heights, up to 90’ from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks or other safe
    work areas and/or platforms.
    Ability to work in restricted areas such as (switchgear rooms, underground electrical vaults, utility
    tunnels, crawl spaces and attic spaces).
    Employee must wear all proper personal protective equipment at all times as required for the
    specific job duties.

    Skill Level:

    Positively identify colors of wires, comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics of same.
    Able to accurately make bends in conduit utilizing a hand bender or mechanical bender.
    Must be familiar with and have the ability to use all power tools, saws, conduit threading machines,
    wire pullers and knockout punches.
    Capable of digging trenches either by hand or with power equipment.
    Operate equipment such as backhoe’s, trenchers, lift trucks and excavators.
    Must adhere to company safety regulations, haz-com policy and lockout-tagout policy.
