We are seeking a Catering Supervisor to oversee and manage catering services at KU Memorial Unions in Lawrence, KS. If you have a strong background in hospitality and enjoy leading teams to deliver exceptional service, wed love to have you on board.
As a Catering Supervisor, you will take charge of catering operations, from managing staff to ensuring smooth execution of events and banquets. This role offers the chance to make a real impact by providing outstanding guest experiences and supporting a dynamic food service environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and train catering staff to ensure efficient event execution, including setup, service, and breakdown.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service during events.
- Oversee inventory management, food safety, and cash handling during catering functions.
- Work closely with team members and campus partners to ensure that event details and expectations are met.
- Assume a leadership role in the absence of the Catering Manager, guiding staff and ensuring smooth event operations.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Prior food service experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Supervisory experience with the ability to manage and train teams.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to obtain ServSafe certification within six months of hire.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and remain on your feet for long periods.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
