Employment Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and client-focused Associate Attorney to join our growing Massachusetts practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1–3 years of experience who is looking to build a long-term career in estate planning while also supporting residential real estate matters.
The ideal candidate is eager to learn, enjoys working directly with clients, and is looking for mentorship from experienced attorneys while developing expertise in estate planning and Massachusetts real estate transactions. Prior estate planning experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with drafting experience through prior employment, internships, clinics, or coursework are encouraged to apply.ResponsibilitiesAssist clients with estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care proxies, and homestead declarations.Meet with clients to discuss estate planning goals and recommend appropriate planning strategies under attorney supervision.Draft estate planning documents and correspondence.Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda as needed.Maintain accurate case files and meet established deadlines.Stay current on changes in Massachusetts estate planning and probate laws.Represent buyers, sellers, lenders, and borrowers in Massachusetts residential real estate transactions.Conduct and attend real estate closings.Review purchase and sale agreements, title examinations, and closing documents.Draft deeds, affidavits, settlement statements, and other transactional documents.Communicate with clients, lenders, real estate agents, and internal teams throughout the closing process.Participate in ongoing training and mentorship opportunities.QualificationsRequiredJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Active license to practice law in Massachusetts.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent drafting, organizational, and analytical skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to providing exceptional client service.Preferred1–3 years of legal experience, preferably with exposure to estate planning or related practice areas.Interest in developing a practice focused on estate planning.Some estate planning experience is preferred but not required.Experience drafting legal documents through employment, internships, judicial clerkships, legal clinics, or law school coursework is preferred.Interest or exposure to Massachusetts residential real estate law is a plus.What We OfferMentorship from experienced estate planning and real estate attorneys.Hands-on experience drafting estate planning documents and advising clients.Opportunity to participate in residential real estate transactions and closings.Professional development and continuing legal education support.Collaborative and team-oriented work environment.Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.Opportunity for long-term career growth within the firm.Suggested CompensationSalary range: $90,000–$110,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
