    Job summary 

    The Director for Subcontracting Manufacturing will be responsible for overseeing, managing and developing subcontracting manufacturing operations with focus on BU Quay & Horizontal products across the AME Region. At the same time the position holder will carry responsibility of driving new BU Yard specific partnerships related whilst already established Yard specific partnerships will be handled by BU Yard Supply team.  

    This leadership role requires strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement to ensure efficient production processes, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards are met. In-depth knowledge of products in scope, structural manufacturing and welding processes and demanding surface treatment operations will be essential to succeed in the role.  The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to drive operational excellence and align with the company's business objectives. 

    You will be expected to spearhead the establishment of supply operations within the United States. The leadership role is crucial in preparing and launching a new organizational structure aimed at building capabilities to establish subcontracting network for crane structures, module assemblies and installations, including related operations management, procurement and material management functions.  

    Key Responsibilities 

    Develop and implement subcontracting manufacturing strategies that align with company goals and objectives. 

    Build and manage a team of professionals to support the execution of the strategy. 

    Manage and oversee subcontractor relationships, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards. 

    Develop, establish and ramp-up new subcontracting concepts as dictated by business requirements and by the execution of business strategy 

    Establish, ramp-up and direct full scale subcontractor based crane structure fabrication, module assembly and installation operations in US including comprehensive and independent operations management, purchasing & material management functions, logistics & trade compliance and quality control procedures 

    Lead negotiations with subcontractors to optimize productivity, manufacturing costs, delivery timelines, and production capabilities while meeting highest quality standards. 

    Develop, monitor and analyze production performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. 

    Collaborate with cross BU supply chain, Business Units, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of subcontracted manufacturing processes. 

    Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality. 

    Develop, jointly with subcontractors, improvement and investment plans for the subcontractors to positively drive productivity and to meet our future long-term targets in terms of cost efficiencies and capabilities. 

    Ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards across all subcontracting manufacturing operations. 

    Prepare and present reports on subcontracting manufacturing activities to senior management. 

    Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements to drive innovation in subcontracting manufacturing processes. 

    Qualifications

    What we expect from you? 

    Master degree in Engineering, or related field 

    Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in the crane or heavy machinery industry, with a focus on subcontracting operations. 

    Proven track record of successful leadership and management in a multicultural environment. 

    Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills and collaboration in cross-functional teams 

    Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions. 

    Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management. 

    Familiarity with safety regulations and all relevant standards and requirements in manufacturing. 

    Fluent English skills 

    Proficiency in relevant software and tools for manufacturing management.

    JOB POSITION:  Industrial Technician 


    Are you interested in becoming an experienced Overhead Crane Service Technician? Join Konecranes, one of the world’s largest material handling companies. We're seeking skilled individuals with electrical and mechanical expertise, comfortable working at extreme heights. Our service technicians, the heart of our industry, thrive in a safety-first environment. You'll troubleshoot 480 3-phase motors, address crane issues, and collaborate with clients and facility directors to meet service needs across the United States.   

     

    Principal Responsibilities: 

    Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at customer locations.Provide on-call service as part of a rotation, including after-hours support.Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic issues on-site.Perform post-repair audits to ensure safety features are functional.Document findings and recommend corrective actions, including safety notifications to customers.Consult with customers on repair and safety issues, offering recommendations for material handling improvement.Produce electronic documentation using company tools, obtaining customer signatures.Stay updated on industry codes and regulations (OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI).Complete service reports and other required documents accurately and promptly.Communicate with the Field Operations Manager and Service Coordinator following established practicesMaintain company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in proper working order.Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles, reporting deficiencies to the supervisor.Follow established safety rules and procedures, including customer guidelines.Participate in monthly safety meetings.Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications

    Education: High School Diploma required. Associate degree in Industrial Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or related field preferred or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience. 

    Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience involving electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair. Some electronic experience but not necessary. Prior experience with cranes is a benefit, but not required. 

    Other Requirements: Must have and maintain a good driving record, including a valid driver's license. Must be willing to work off the ground. Can work varied overtime, as needed by customer, be available for "on call" as part of the service office rotation and be able to travel and work out of town, on occasion. 

    Must be able to frequently lift to 25 lbs. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis. Must be able to lift to 75 lbs. although not on a daily basis. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. on a rare basis. This position requires frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, and overhead reaching. This position requires occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling. This position will be inside approximately 90% of the time and outside approximately 10% of the time. This position will be frequently exposed to heat, cold, noise and heights.

    Job Description

    REPORTS TO:  Project Manager

    As a Project Manager on the Industrial Crane team, you will coordinate the completion of projects within the established budget, scope and timeframe that results in a successful project and satisfied customer. The most important aspect of this position is the ability to coordinate and communicate project requirements and status updates to customers and team members. You will be the primary contact for all customer interactions, which means that you will engage and coordinate all resources and technical experts required for each unique project.

    You will report to the Senior Project Manager assigned in the region.

    You Will:

     Coordinate and host Internal and External Kick-off Meetings for all projects Review and manage projects according to budget and technical requirements Organize and Coordinate all site deliverables and servicesRequisition all required materials for site activities Coordinate approval drawing flow between the customer and engineering Identify changes in project scope and manage change ordersSupport installation and commissioning activitiesPrepare project closing reports

The Project Management team can affect this experience through the way that projects are managed throughout the entire customer purchasing experience. As a Project Manager, you will be in a key position to directly provide an industry-leading experience to our customers.

    Qualifications

    You Have:

    Ability to Travel 25% 3+ years managing or coordinating projects in an industrial or construction setting Post secondary degree, PMP certification or relevant industry experience

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology is preferred and/or equivalent experience.  PME or similar certification preferred.

    EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of technical project management for electrical and mechanical design, procurement management and support of field installations. A qualified candidate should be able to process technical information and provide technical instructions to an acceptable level. Ability to read mechanical and electrical prints.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office. Verbal and literary communication plays a key role in this position. Must have the aptitude to learn at fast pace. Must be willing and able to work off the ground at heights. Must show ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must be able to travel up to 25%. Prefer candidates who live in CST.
