    Position : Infrastructure Operations Manager Location: Alexandria, VA Work Environment: Hybrid Clearance Required: Secret Status: Contingent Upon Contract Award Knowesis is seeking a seasoned Infrastructure Operations Manager to lead enterprise IT operations supporting the DoD OIG’s Office of the CIO. This role oversees the performance, reliability, and security of the organization’s infrastructure—including networks, servers, storage, and cloud environments—ensuring alignment with federal standards and mission-critical objectives. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with operational leadership, driving continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration in a secure, high-stakes environment. To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. The DoD OIG mission is to detect and deter fraud, waste, and abuse in DoD programs and operations; promote the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of the DoD; and help ensure ethical conduct throughout the DoD. The DoD OIG keeps the Secretary of Defense and the Congress informed of fraud, waste, abuse, and program deficiencies identified through its oversight work. The DoD OIG’s administrative and criminal investigators, auditors, evaluators, and support staff operate globally, conducting investigations, audits, evaluations, and mission support activities to accomplish the DoD OIG’s mission. The DoD OIG, OCIO is responsible for installing, maintaining, operating, and supporting all DoD OIG Information Technology (IT) systems and communication capabilities for approximately 2000 end users and over 60 locations around the globe. Due to the independence of the DoD OIG, the OCIO provides the full spectrum of IT services necessary to support the OIG mission including database support, storage management, transition management, application services, mobile device management, IT asset management, domain services, network transport, and service desk. The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Lead day-to-day operations of infrastructure services, including data centers, networks, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems Manage a team of engineers and technicians across network, server, and virtualization domains Oversee system availability, performance monitoring, and incident response across classified and unclassified environments Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF, and DISA STIGs Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, patching cycles, and lifecycle management Collaborate with cybersecurity, service desk, and application teams to ensure seamless service delivery Develop and maintain SOPs, architecture documentation, and operational dashboards Support continuity of operations (COOP), disaster recovery planning, and execution Provide regular reporting to Knowesis leadership and government stakeholders on infrastructure health, risks, and performance Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic enhancements to support mission growth Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, information systems, business administration, information technology. Minimum 10 years’ experience in IT field Minimum 5 years’ experience demonstrating technical and process proficiency across a broad range of IT landscape technologies and key IT disciplines. Minimum 5 years’ experience managing on-premises and cloud infrastructure demonstrating cost reductions through cloud optimization, improved system uptime via proactive monitoring, and cloud migration of applications.services Familiarity with RMF, NIST 800-53, and federal compliance frameworks Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk), automation, and configuration management Proven leadership and team development capabilities Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Strategic mindset with attention to operational detail Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, mission-driven environment Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or information technology related field.
