License may be active or inactive at time of hire.Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent marine engineering degreeKnowledge of and recent experience in commercial maritime, U.S. Navy (USN), USCG, Military Sealift Command (MSC), or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) ship maintenance and repair.Combined recent professional maritime experience greater than or equal to 5 years.Background 2:USN or USCG Officer (03 or higher), Limited Duty Officer (LDO) or Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) with a minimum of two sea tours or combination of tours as Chief Engineer (CHENG), and/or Main Propulsion Assistant (MPA). Make recommendations to the Type Desk and to defer or add work to SOW.Designing and implementing an inventory tracking system for optimized inventory control procedures.Examine the levels of raw materials and supplies to determine shortages.Create detailed reports for adjustments, inventory operations and stock levels.Analyze data to anticipate future needs. May include time on a Navy Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) or Type Commander (TYCOM) engineering staff engaged in ship maintenance and repair.Background 2:USCG Merchant Marine Third Assistant Engineer (unlimited) or higher with a minimum of two years sea time as a U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) licensed merchant marine engineer. License may be active or inactive at time of hire.Minimum of 5 years recent experience in commercial maritime, USN, USCG Guard, MSC, or NOAA ship maintenance and repair. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. Attendance at prescheduled mandatory meetings is required. Must be available during the core work hours as determined by your contract/location and must account for the required number of hours in a pay period to maintain Full-time status.Telework:This position does not allow for any teleworking – 100% onsite.
