About the Role
K&K is seeking highly technical Seibi (Maintenance Engineering Technician) to support Battery Production Engineering operations. This role is electrical- and PLC-intensive, focused on machine setup, troubleshooting, automation support, and capital project execution through Start of Production (SOP).
This position is ideal for a hands-on electrical professional who can write, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs, diagnose complex electrical systems, and support advanced manufacturing equipment in a high-volume production environment.
Strong electrical and PLC troubleshooting experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Test, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, including:
Electrical circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, and servo drives
Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic (read, write, and build logic as needed)
Troubleshoot and support:
Servo motion systems
Robotics and vision/camera systems
Safety circuits and interlocks (NFPA 79 / ISO standards)
Perform electrical diagnostics using meters:
Voltage checks
Resistance (ohm) checks
Insulation testing (megger)
Support machine integration into mass production, including leveling, adjustment, and quality confirmation
Participate in production trials at vendors and within Toyota facilities
Certify equipment safety via Safety Integrity Checks
Develop detailed work schedules (Denwacho) and report status to management
Support capital project planning and execution
Document work performed using written and electronic systems
Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of industrial maintenance or electrical troubleshooting experience
Strong hands-on experience with:
PLC programming (ability to explain, modify, and create logic)
Electrical circuits, wiring, relays, and switches
Servo motor troubleshooting
Experience using electrical test equipment (voltage, ohm, and meg checks)
Experience with robotics, automation, and safety systems
Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shutdowns
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30%)
Steel-toe boots required
Bachelor’s degree not required
Preferred Qualifications
Technical Associate Degree or higher (or equivalent experience)
Pre-production or new facility startup experience
Capital project or equipment installation experience
Experience in high-volume manufacturing or clean-room environments
Familiarity with:
Standardized Work (STW)
Job Instruction Sheets (JIS)
Quality data collection and analysis
