ABOUT THE POSITION The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of diesel commercial vehicles and related systems to ensure safe and reliable fleet operations. Key Responsibilities Safety Adhere to all safety regulations and promote a safe working environment. Perform routine maintenance including lube, oil, and filter changes Inspect, diagnose, and repair engines and mechanical components on diesel trucks Repair and maintain electrical, hydraulic, and air systems Replace parts ranging from small components to major assemblies Respond to service calls for disabled trucks, including potential after-hours/on-call situations Maintain maintenance records and ensure equipment is safe and compliant Promote and follow all company safety policies and procedures Qualifications Expectations 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience required Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs safely and efficiently Team-oriented with ability to work independently Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotation Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and working at heights Frequent crouching, crawling under trucks, and reaching in confined spaces Regular use of hand and power tools Ability to lift 5 50 lbs. manually Work on uneven, wet, or outdoor surfaces as needed Hearing and vision sufficient for safe equipment operation Why Kirkpatrick?
