    About Kingman Regional Medical Center

    Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) is the largest employer, largest healthcare provider and the only remaining non-profit hospital in the Mohave County of Northwestern Arizona. We are a 235-bed, Level 4 trauma, multi-campus healthcare system. Our system includes over 270 physicians/allied health professionals and 1,900 employees and provides a full range of medical services ranging from essential primary care to complex surgery. Key clinical services include cardiology & cardiac rehab, oncology, emergency care, GI, general surgery, neurology, OB/GYN, orthopedics, physical & occupational therapy, pain management, thoracic surgery, urology, wound care, home health, and hospice care.     Kingman, AZ is located along Historic Route 66, just 90 minutes south of Las Vegas and two hours North of Phoenix in the beautiful high desert of Mohave County. Our tranquil mid-sized community is relatively low stress; traffic is minimal and average commute times to work are under fifteen minutes. Kingman’s higher elevation keeps the sweltering desert summer temperatures away from the extremes (on average 10-15 degrees cooler than Phoenix and Las Vegas) with mild winter temperatures seeing an occasional dusting of snow. Located near the Colorado River that forms the western boundary of Mohave County with an estimated 1,000 miles of freshwater shoreline including Lake Havasu, Lake Mohave, and Lake Mead.     Position Purpose:

    Under the direction of the Radiologist, performs appropriate diagnostic exams and studies to ensure safe, high quality patient care.

    Key Responsibilities

    Evaluation and Implementation of Appropriate Care

    Under the direction of the Radiologist, anatomically positions the patient and performs imaging procedures utilizing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes. After reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient’s abilities and condition, selects the most appropriate patient care plan. Selects appropriate shielding devices and appropriate immobilization devices. Evaluates lab values prior to administering contrast media. Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medications or insufficient patient preparation. Reconfirms patient identification using two unique identifiers (Name and DOB) and verifies procedure requested. Verifies female patient pregnancy status when appropriate. Able to recognize significant clinical information and historical facts, from the patient and from the medical record, which may impact the examination. Monitors patient and equipment during procedures, accurately documents exam times (start and stop), patient reactions or problems, and reports concerns or issues immediately to supervisor.

    Able to use extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and resources to obtain the maximum diagnostic image (injectors, respiratory gating software, patient vitals monitor, etc.).

    Quality of Care

    The technologist provides evidence-based care to prevent the development of a hospital acquired condition and hospital readmissions. The technologist practices standard precautions during patient contact and while handling contaminated materials.

    Qualifications

    Education: Graduate of Radiologic Technology Program or MRI Program Accredited through ARRT or ARMRIT

    Experience: On the job training with outside didactic education i.e., Galveston College or previous MRI experience

    Certification: BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

    Licensure:

    Current registration and licensure by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) MRI Certification (MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)

    OR

    Current registration and licensure by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and MRI certification through ARRT required within 9 months of hire

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Demonstrates ability to effectively perform advanced MRI angiography to include bilateral run-off’s and the required reformatting with additions and subtraction of raw data. Demonstrates understanding of and responsibility for magnetic resonance safety compliance requirements.

    Preferences

    Education: Education preferred from an educational institution approved by ARRT or ARMRIT.

    Experience: Preferred minimum of one-year experience as an MRI technologist

    Category I: Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.

    Certification: BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

    Licensure:

    Current registration and licensure by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) MRI Certification (MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
