    Schedule: 1st Shift & 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday

     

    JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES

    - Complete vehicle and component preparation and inspection.

    - Collect detailed data through proper use of data acquisition equipment in regard to vehicle issues.

    - Initiate and monitor EV Charging etc.

    - Drive safely in a variety of weather conditions.

    - Complete visual inspections and check vehicle fluids as required.

    - Operate vehicles through varies courses and environments to ensure vehicles are operating at high standards set by the customer

    - Be willing to work weekends and OT as needed.

    Driver Candidate Requirements:

    - Safely operate test vehicles in a wide range of testing conditions.

    - Follow detailed instructions for vehicle and component preparation to begin testing. This may include, but is not limited to, full visual inspection of vehicle including tires, glass, body panels, and interior.

    - Checking all vehicle fluids, air pressure, and function of components.

    - Collect data through various data acquisition systems and communicate in accordance with internal customer (Engineering) protocol.

    - Document tests, repairs, and configurations in descriptive and understandable notes.

    - Be computer literate.

    - Must be able to understand and operate current electronic office equipment (PC hardware and Google Docs, basic data entry and interface with data collection devices.

    - Able to drive safely in various conditions.

    - Follow policies and take ownership for working safely to avoid risks to self and others.

    - Be prepared to work weekends or overtime if test validation is necessary.

    - Be highly organized, dedicated to assignments and committed to safety!

    - Able to work cooperatively in diverse and challenging environment. Have good command of the English language with good written and verbal communication skills.

    - High School Diploma or equivalent education.

    - A clean motor vehicle driving record is necessary.

    - Must be flexible and receptive in a rapidly changing daily work environment.

     

    REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS

    - Must pass Drug Test and Background Check with an employment and education verification.

    - Must have valid Driver's License

    - Must have a clean driving record

    - Preferred to have Vehicle Testing Experience, but not required

    - Must be Proficient with computer software and hardware.

    - Must be able to accurately document detailed information regarding their assigned test

    - Proficient with computer software and hardware.

    - Highly organized and dedicated to detailing the project as required.

    - High School Diploma or equivalent education. An associate degree with an emphasis in Automotive or related field would be a plus.

    - Willing to accomplish new challenges and assignments as given.

    - EV Experience is NOT required but a PLUS.

    - Required Training will be provided.

    - MUST be flexible with scheduling as it pertains to vehicle testing needs in the future.

    Overview
    We are seeking a motivated and energetic Short Term Test Driver/Operator to join our team and help support automotive testing with a Luxury Automotive brand. In this role, you will be responsible for driving prototype like vehicles and utilize equipment to collect vehicle data and support automotive testing programs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge vehicles and contribute to high-profile testing projects in a dynamic environment. Experience with Microsoft, Excel, Spreadsheets, etc. is HIGHLY sought out.


    1st Shift: 6am - 2:30pm

    2nd Shift: 3:30pm - Midnight

    Project will last approximately 4-8 weeks but may be extended


    Duties

    Safely operate passenger vehiclesCollect and distribute vehicle data to engineersConduct vehicle inspections prior to operation, ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations.Follow detailed testing protocols and document vehicle performance data accurately.Communicate effectively with team members regarding vehicle status, test procedures, and safety concerns.Maintain cleanliness and basic mechanical checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal operation.


    Skills

    Computer literacy, the position will utilize computers and computer programs to collect data and distribute collected data.Mechanical knowledge to perform basic inspections and troubleshoot minor issues on vehicles and equipment.Strong communication skills for clear reporting and team coordination.Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently, required to drive but not required for data collection.


    Qualifications

    Kett Engineering is looking for good, dependable and safe drivers to join our team at our customer location in Commerce City, CO.


    This full-time position requires the drivers to drive and evaluate advanced tractor/trailers and other vehicles for testing purposes.


    No loading/unloading and no deliveries!


    Drivers will conduct pre-trip safety inspection as required. Then you will be driving on "real world" durability test routes on various road surfaces.

    The driver will be electronically document findings in a very clear and concise manner.


    Pay rate: $28 - $30 per hour. Depending on experience and shift.

    Shift Hours: 5 days/week, Monday - Sunday (must work one weekend day)

    1st Shift:

    7am - 3pm

    2nd Shift: (+$2.00/hour shift differential pay)

    5pm - 3am

You will be the central point of contact for our test drivers, technicians, and engineering teams to follow up on vehicle issues.
    Responsibilities

    · Manage Issue Triage & Tracking: Act as the first line of defense for new vehicle issues. Document, prioritize, and assign emerging problems using Jira (e.g., system-level tickets, root cause analysis requests). Analyze trends and escalate high volume and high severity issues.Investigate & Document: Collaborate with test drivers to gather detailed logs and qualitative feedback to strengthen issue reports. Ensure all diagnostic information is accurately captured and linked. Diagnose in vehicle or with dashboard data initial root cause of issues.Facilitate Failure Analysis: Create tickets for any hardware issues. Manage the logistics for failed components. You will be responsible for ensuring parts are correctly removed, documented, and routed to the appropriate engineering teams or suppliers for root cause analysis.Act as a Key Liaison: Serve as the primary communication bridge between test drivers, the workshop/tech team, and supporting engineering groups to ensure seamless information flow for rapid problem resolution.Maximize Fleet Uptime: Proactively manage and prioritize the fleet schedule to ensure continuous, efficient testing. Create, manage, and track workshop repair tickets from inception to closure.Coordinate Vehicle Updates: Oversee the deployment of Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates to the fleet. Ensure all diagnostic information is accurately captured and linked. Diagnose in vehicle or with dashboard data initial root cause of issues.Facilitate Failure Analysis: Create tickets for any hardware issues. Manage the logistics for failed components. You will be responsible for ensuring parts are correctly removed, documented, and routed to the appropriate engineering teams or suppliers for root cause analysis.Act as a Key Liaison: Serve as the primary communication bridge between test drivers, the workshop/tech team, and supporting engineering groups to ensure seamless information flow for rapid problem resolution.Maximize Fleet Uptime: Proactively manage and prioritize the fleet schedule to ensure continuous, efficient testing. Create, manage, and track workshop repair tickets from inception to closure.Coordinate Vehicle Updates: Oversee the deployment of Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates to the fleet. In some cases, manually flashing may be required to update the fleet or verify issue resolution.

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related technical field.Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced technical environment (automotive, aerospace, or a related hardware-testing field is strongly preferred).Technical Skills: High proficiency in Jira for ticket creation, workflow management, and reporting.Automotive Knowledge: Strong understanding of complex vehicle systems, diagnostics, and architecture. Specific experience with Electric Vehicles (EVs) is a major asset.No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver LicenseMust have a valid driver's license and/or Real ID or any other documentation to travel within the country.Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring

In this role, you will be responsible for operating, driving, troubleshooting, and evaluating our prototype test vehicles and documenting product development feedback to our engineers. This takes the form of operating test vehicles statically, driving on public roads, or private test facilities, conducting safety inspections, and performing specialized test procedures.
