    JOB SUMMARY:

    Applies a thorough understanding of policy, practices, and technology in the planning and implementation of network services for the University. Maintains the University network and file servers. Supervises professional, technical staff, and/or students.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Oversees the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects; provides planning, leadership, direction, and technical expertise to the campus on local and wide area network services and systems.
  • Maintains network documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs, and other related information.Monitors usage to ensure the security of data and access privileges; installs, supports, and maintains both physical and virtual network servers and appliances. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in computer networking. Ability to plan and guide the development, installation, maintenance, and repair of computer network systems and servers. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. Knowledge of VMware, Exchange, AD, and Linux.Ability to prioritize requests, organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of activities and projects in a deadline-oriented environment.Ability to identify and resolve network system malfunctions and operational problems.     JOB SUMMARY:

    The Assistant/Associate Professor of Pond Management and Aquaculture Extension is a tenure track position in the School of Aquaculture and Aquatic Science at Kentucky State University in Frankfort, KY. The position is to provide innovative leadership for the Aquaculture Extension program. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment with 60% extension, 25% teaching, and 15% research responsibilities. The candidate will report to the Chair of the School of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences.

    The primary mission of the School of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences is to integrate research, teaching, and extension functions in support of aquaculture in Kentucky, the U.S., and the World.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • The Assistant/Associate Professor of Pond Management and Aquaculture Extension will administer and coordinate ongoing aquaculture extension programs within the School of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences and conduct a program on pond management for food and/or recreation.
  • They will develop a program relevant to stakeholders of small farms and underserved populations in Kentucky.
  • They will develop training materials on managing small impoundments and engage both KSU and UK extension agents throughout the state.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Ph.D. in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Biology, Agriculture, Extension, or related degree with six (6) years of related experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).

    The minimum qualifications for appointment to the faculty in the rank of assistant professor, in academic areas where the doctorate is the terminal degree, include the following:

    Possession of the master s degree in the teaching discipline or a related field and two years of full-time study beyond the master s degree or its equivalent (a minimum of 45 semester credits).Two years of full-time teaching experience in an institution accredited by one of the accrediting agencies recognized the US Dept. of Education (or its equivalent as determined by the academic unit/division, the unit supervisor, theappropriate Dean, and the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs). The terminal degree may substitute for experience.Potential for professional growth and achievement..The minimum qualifications for appointment to the faculty in the rank of associate professor include the following:

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Extension agents are community-based professionals of Kentucky State University who are effective by connecting community needs with university resources. The 4-H Extension Agent will develop, conduct, and deliver educational programs based on locally identified needs, leading to improved quality of life for children and underserved youth. This role is particularly committed to serving the underserved, underrepresented, and minority populations, being intentional about creating relationships and partnerships within various communities, especially in areas traditionally lacking a 4-H presence.


    The 4-H Extension Agent is a professional educator who provides leadership to the local 4-H program and manages its day-to-day operation. 4-H is a community of young people learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills. The mission of 4-H is to develop youth and adults working with those youth, to realize their full potential becoming effective, contributing citizens through participation in research-based, non-formal, firsthand educational experiences. The 4-H Agent will work closely with the 4-H Program Leader for all programmatic efforts.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Extension Agents are community-based professionals of Kentucky State University who make a difference by connecting community needs with university resources. The Extension Agent for Community Resource Development will develop, conduct, and deliver educational programs based on locally identified needs in the community, and assisting with general community needs, while prioritizing the needs of underserved and minority audiences. Fine Arts Extension agents develop, conduct, and deliver educational programs based on locally identified needs to build a dynamic arts culture, which leads to improved quality of life for children and families The Agent will design and deliver arts workshops, classes, and events also collaborate with community partners to enhance arts initiatives.

    The Extension Agent for Fine Arts is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating effective and comprehensive educational programs and training. The Fine Arts programs are designed to strengthen existing arts programs, as well as develop new opportunities for arts engagements, in the community which they serve, particularly among socially disadvantaged and limited resource families. The Fine Arts Extension Agent will be responsible for non-formal educational programs in music, poetry, performing arts, painting, etc. The agent will work closely with the Community Resource Development Program Leader and other Fine Arts professionals for all programmatic efforts. This position will be a member of the off-campus Extension staff of Kentucky State University as part of the Kentucky Cooperative Extension System, which is composed of individuals and programs from both Kentucky State University and the University of Kentucky.

    The Extension Agent reports to the Northern KY Area Extension Director. This position will serve all clientele and give them an equal opportunity to participate in programs regardless of race, gender, age, color, sex, religion, disability, or national origin.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with and/or develop advisory committees to facilitate community involvement in programming.
