Job DescriptionMazak Multi-Axis Turning Center Operator - Job Description\nThis position is responsible for setting up and operating Mazak Multi-Axis Turning Centers to produce high-quality machined parts according to customer specifications, while maintaining quality and production logs as required.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n\tSetup and Operation: Setup Mazak Turning Centers from setup sheets by loading programs into machine controllers, loading workholding and cutting tools, setting work positions and tool offsets, and performing dry runs of the program.\n\tFirst Article Inspection: Inspect and submit the first article part with the required documents to Quality Assurance for approval.\n\tQuality Control: Constantly inspect parts visually and using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to maintain quality during production. \nDuties/Responsibilities
\n• Accurately and safely assemble electromechanical assemblies in accordance with drawings, written, or verbal instructions, which may include the following tasks:
\n• Solder, strip, crimp, splice electrical wires
\n• Build mechanical subassemblies using a variety of fastening methods
\n• Torque fasteners to proper spec and in proper sequence
\n• Route cables and securing wiring throughout systems
\n• Properly and consistently attach labels or name plates to assemblies, components, or cables
\n• Measure dimensions to verify proper clearance of parts
\n• Safely use standard assembly tooling (hex wrenches, screw drivers, wire cutters, wire strippers, torque tools, etc.)
\n• Use appropriate tooling/fixtures to aid in proper assembly
\n• Read and understand electrical schematics
\n• Inspect and test subassemblies
\n• Verify mechanical functionality, where appropriate
\n• Test for electrical continuity using a voltmeter
\n• Read and understand bill of material structure; escalate errors or discrepancies to appropriate personnel
\n• Visually inspect components for flaws/damage and escalate issues to appropriate personnel
\n• Assist with miscellaneous tasks as assigned, which may include packaging finished goods, material handling (kitting), warehouse cleanup and organization, etc.
\n• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including participation in 5S program
\n• Participate in continuous improvement activities as assigned
\n• Communicates ideas and facts in a professional manner to all stakeholders
\n• Regularly perform repetitive tasks and sit or stand for long periods of time
\n• Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
\n• Proficiently building cables / wire harness assemblies with wire as small as 26 AWG
\n• Demonstrate a working knowledge of IPC 620
\n• Demonstrate basic proficiency in the layout, routing, and termination of wires for UL 508A electrical panels
\n• Effectively manage more than one project at a time; willing and able to change priorities as needed
\n• Upload component firmware (“configure devices”) according to written instructions
\n• Adhere to the company’s redline process to clearly document any as-built changes
\n• Maintain accurate accounting of project materials and report any discrepancies appropriately
\n• Rework and/or repair equipment and products as instructed
\n• Participate in the development of work instructions as needed, which may include writing simple work instructions, cutsheets, or assembly notes
\n• Perform discreet tasks and/or build subassemblies to support first article builds
\n• Perform basic troubleshooting for electromechanical assemblies (motors, cables, electrical panels, mechanical assemblies)
\n• Safely use more advanced tooling (power tools, CableEye, etc.)
\n• Assist with cold checks using a schematic (“continuity checks”)
\n• Perform field service, as needed
