We are seeking a Cloud Architect to join the team supporting the Air Force Technical Applications Center at Patrick Space Force Base in Melbourne, Florida.

    NOTE: This is not a remote/telework job. This job requires the selected applicant to have an active U.S. Government-issued security clearance at time of hire and, therefore, requires U.S. citizenship.

    As a Cloud Architect, you will support the technical expert on the government customers’ cloud computing strategy supporting mission-essential data flow to store and distribute to both internal and external partners within cloud platforms.

    ResponsibilitiesImplement time-critical cloud solutions to deliver, monitor mission data using modern software tools and applicationsInterpret software requirements, information needs, system flows, and detailed designs into cloud solutions for data usage, and work processesLead the performance of technical troubleshooting in a cloud environmentPerform analysis to determine assignable failure, recommend and implement cloud-based solutions, assist with testing infrastructure and application testing on in-house and third-party softwareCoordinate with customer customers to understand and document data flow requirements suitable for cloud environmentsAssist with establishing priorities for overall cloud integration projects through a DevSecOps pipeline while working hardware, software and data delivery issuesAssist customer in operationalizing software applications in a secure, scalable and reliable cloud environmentBasic QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or other relevant field of studyRelevant 5+ years of experience AWS Solutions Architect Associate certificationUnderstands cloud networking and security frameworksDemonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to coordinate and communicate with executives, external partners, and project stakeholdersKnowledgeable on concepts in DevSecOps principlesDemonstrate proficiency in programming languages and frameworks utilized in cloud software developmentsExperience with RESTful APIs, scripting in Shell, Bash, and yamlCurrent CompTIA Security+ certification (or obtain within 180 days of hire)Hands-on experience with virtualization, container technologies (Docker, container) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Helm)Experience with Linux, installing software, patches, and updates on cloud platformsProficiency in infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)Experience with RESTful APIs, scripting in Shell, Bash, and yaml Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principles Knowledgeable on concepts in DevSecOps principlesDemonstrate proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks utilized in cloud software developmentsDemonstrated proficiency in Python and Golang coding languagesCurrent CompTIA Security+ certification (or obtain within 180 days of hire)Preferred QualificationsAWS Solutions Architect Professional certificationOTHER:U.S. citizenship required. Must have a fully adjudicated (not an interim) Government clearance.Must pass a drug test.

    Job Description:
    This mechanical engineer position provides on-site scientific, engineering, and technical assistance to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Office for Science and Technology (ST). The engineer will provide expertise for the development of systems, processes, machines, engines, tools, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Additionally, the candidate will support the design, analysis and usage of heat and mechanical power for the operation of machines and mechanical systems. This role also encompasses aerospace engineering with a specific focus on the design, construction, and science of both air and space vehicles, primarily at the systems level and is concerned with the science and force of physics particular to the atmosphere and space environment.

    Responsibilities:Works with US Government and contractor personnel to design and produce parts using a variety of materials and processes (e.g. additive manufacturing, milling, machining). Coordinates outsourcing of fabrication to other organizations as needed/directed.Provides QA/QC to parts produced in house and/or externally.Provides engineering support to field testing and operational demonstrations. Travel may be required.Provides support for in-house technology initiatives and/or assessment and monitoring of the adequacy and feasibility of technical proposals and on-going projects by other parties in Government, academia, and industry.May support the functional evaluation and preparation of previously developed systems and assets to ensure their availability for R&D and operational use.May require occasional weekend support to evaluate, prepare, and position necessary assets, equipment, and resources for upcoming operations including test events and exercises.Performs other duties as assigned to accomplish the ATI mission.     Basic QualificationsMust have considerable experience in the use of 3D CAD tools to include SolidWorks.Must be capable of performing finite modeling with the use of software-based tools.Must have significant familiarity with additive manufacturing processes and machines.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to convey technical information in a variety of formats, to include presentations and discussions, to non-technical stakeholders.Ability to manage time and resources, quickly adapt to changing priorities, and self-manage production.
    Preferred QualificationsKnowledge and experience in the application and adaptation of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products to meet government system requirements.Knowledge of standard DoD acquisition regulations, practices and procedures is desired.
    EDUCATION-EXPERIENCEBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 3 years directly related experience
