Essential Functions of the Associate TeacherBuilds personal and meaningful relationships with childcare families while exemplifying the Y's commitment to the four character values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility. Responds to all inquiries in a timely manner. As a full-time employee you must be dependable, and you will be expected to build consistency and stability in the classroom for the children in your care.Implements curriculum within the established guidelines. Assists with designing and implementing daily lesson/activity plans. Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child. Conducts parent conferences with the Lead Teacher and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers. Maintains program site and equipment. Maintains required program records. Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications: Ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Meets educational and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing. At least 18 years of age CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date. Health form completed within the 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) of hire date; renewed every 3 years. At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred. Swim Instructor POSITION SUMMARY:Supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Builds members' and the community's understanding of the YMCA's cause and impact. Instructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable, culturally aware and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures with advocacy for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum age of 18. Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid Current YMCA certified Swim Instructor/trainer, YMCA Water Safety instructor/trainer.
