Support the services and resources that allow students to develop skills in locating, evaluating, synthesizing and using information empowering them to be proficient life-long learners. Assist the library media specialist to ensure that the library media center is actively involved in the instructional programs of the campus. Major Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist students and staff members in using information. * Assist the library media specialist with facilitation of both small and large student groups. * Assist students and staff members with locating print, audiovisual and electronic resources. * Assist with the development and implementation of student reading incentive programs. * Assist with the enforcement of library media center rules. * Assist in managing a library media center that is aesthetically pleasing, age appropriate, user friendly and reflects the interests and needs of the students and staff. * Perform computerized circulation operations of all library inventoried items. * Coordinate the training, supervision and scheduling of student assistants and adult volunteers. * Create student-centered bulletin boards, displays and activity centers. * Perform clerical duties such as: typing correspondences, processing of requisitions and purchase orders, answering telephones, faxing, photocopying, filing and shelving. * Assist with scheduling of equipment and library usage. * Assist in the usage and maintenance of audiovisual equipment. * Assist with annual inventory of library materials. * Perform other duties as assigned.
