    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    Diagnose Commercial Plumbing Issues: Utilize observation, testing, and set up to identify plumbing problems.Equipment Troubleshooting: Disassemble and reassemble both large and small commercial equipment for troubleshooting.Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct planned maintenance and inspections as outlined in service agreements.Water Heater and Boiler Services: Handle maintenance, troubleshooting, replacement, and system installation for water heaters, boilers, boiler pumps, circulating systems, and boiler controllers.Service Contracts and Calls: Complete service contracts, quoted projects, and demand service calls as directed.Customer Relationships: Build long-term relationships with customers, ensuring they understand and are satisfied with the work performed.Project Communication: Keep all project stakeholders informed and document project status.Technical Support: Assist other service technicians, providing technical support.Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate the work of subcontractors and provide training and guidance to technicians.Multi-Project Management: Manage multiple tasks across various projects with minimal impact between them.Installation Planning: Review job contract specifications and assist with the installation plan.Project Coordination: Ensure work aligns with the project and start-up schedule.Safe Driving: Safely operate a motor vehicle and trailer, adhering to company driving policies and safety requirements.Invoicing Documentation: Document invoicing data based on hours worked and materials/equipment used.Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stock on the service vehicle.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    Develop and maintain long-term, trust-based partnerships with key client stakeholders.Meet with customers to review project sites and develop solutions.Establish a clear and mutually agreed-upon scope of work prior to project initiation.Walk completed projects with the customer to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities.

    Project Initiation & Documentation

    Confirm project scope, review construction documents, and distribute all relevant information to the project team and subcontractors.Establish and maintain organized project documentation systems, including Bluebeam sessions, schedules, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, QA/QC records, and correspondence.Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower plans, and procurement timelines to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and labor.Oversee procurement activities by reviewing vendor/subcontractor proposals, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring materials comply with drawings, specifications, and approved submittals.Prepare and process all project documentation such as change orders, vendor quotes, RFIs, invoices, and pricing impacts.

    Project Management & Coordination

    Support day‑to‑day project execution, scheduling, and coordination across internal teams and subcontractors.Coordinate facility shutdowns and ensure adherence to safety protocols, including daily PTPs and weekly safety meetings.Collaborate with field leadership to manage installation activities, equipment rentals, QA/QC updates, and issue resolution.Inspect and verify delivered equipment, document discrepancies, and manage corrective actions.Maintain records such as safety certifications, QA/QC documentation, jobsite photos, crane plans, and GC communication.Lead mechanical HVAC and plumbing project delivery—including mission-critical/data center work—ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and code requirements.Oversee installation and commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC equipment, chilled water systems, hydronic systems, and domestic water systems.Track project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, providing updates to internal and external stakeholders.Conduct project meetings and communicate progress regarding schedule, budget, procurement, and scope changes.Manage project closeout, including as‑builts, O&M manuals, startup records, and warranty documents.Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Other Duties

    Prepare project estimates by obtaining vendor pricing and developing detailed material lists.Complete final budget summaries (FBS) and review with supervisor.Ensure all pricing, change order scopes, and billing forms are reviewed and approved as required.Prepare scope letters, subcontracts, purchase order requests, and project submittals.Complete cost code sheets prior to project start for accurate JCR reporting.Review Job Cost Reports with supervisor and submit all required financial/project documentation.

    Qualifications

    5+ years of commercial mechanical project management experience (HVAC and/or plumbing).Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems and building codes.Experience with data center mechanical systems preferred: chilled water plants, HVAC equipment, units, economizers, BMS/controls coordination, etc.Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, high‑demand environment.Proficient with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite, and Procore.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.OSHA 30 certification preferred.Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

    Work Environment

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Workforce Training & Development Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training programs that develop a highly skilled, compliant, and safety‑focused workforce for commercial HVAC and plumbing operations. This role also supports and administers the company’s NCCER Apprenticeship Program, ensures accurate training and apprenticeship documentation, and represents the company at trade competitions and recruitment events in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONCIBILITIES

    Training Strategy & Program Development

    Develop and execute a comprehensive workforce training strategy for commercial HVAC and plumbing trades.Design onboarding, technical, safety, leadership, and continuing education programs for field and office employees.Align training initiatives with company growth plans, Arizona labor demands, and emerging technologies (e.g., building automation, refrigerant transitions, energy efficiency).

    Technical & Trade Training

    Oversee hands‑on and classroom training in areas including: Commercial HVAC systems (DX, RTUs, chillers, boilers, hydronics)Commercial plumbing systems (code compliance, backflow prevention; medical gas exposure preferred)Controls, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance best practicesCoordinate technician progression and skills assessments.Ensure technicians maintain required certifications (EPA 608, OSHA, manufacturer certifications).

    NCCER Apprenticeship Program Administration

    Assist with administration of the NCCER Apprenticeship Program, including: Maintaining apprentice records, transcripts, and credentialsEnsuring compliance with NCCER administrative, documentation, and reporting requirementsTracking OJT hours, classroom instruction, competencies, and assessmentsCoordinating audits, verifications, and program updates as requiredServe as a liaison between operations, instructors, and program sponsors to support apprentice success and progression.

    Safety & Compliance

    Deliver and monitor OSHA‑compliant safety training (OSHA 10/30, heat illness prevention, lockout/tagout, confined space).Ensure training compliance with Arizona regulations, local codes, and company safety standards.Maintain accurate, audit‑ready training and safety records.

    Leadership & Career Development

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required

    5+ years’ experience in workforce training, learning & development, or technical training within commercial HVAC, plumbing, construction, or skilled trades.Working knowledge of commercial HVAC and/or plumbing field operations.Experience with NCCER apprenticeship programs or similar structured trade training programs.Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements and compliance training.Strong organizational, documentation, and record‑keeping skills.Excellent communication and facilitation skills.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites and events.
