Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in the operations of Kana Hotel Group. This position entails assisting in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and equipment at our facility in Knoxville, Tennessee and the owner’s home in Lenoir City, TN.
Description of the role:
The Mechanical Technician at Kana Hotel Group in Knoxville, Tennessee will be responsible for performing general repairs that do not require a specialized technician in a commercial building and personal residence. This includes tasks such as replacing light bulbs, repairing drywall, painting, and fixing doors and other building fixtures. The role also involves routine maintenance on building systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
Responsibilities:
- Follow and complete a building inspection checklist meticulously. – Oversee a maintenance log in the front office and promptly address any issues. - Identify and resolve safety hazards throughout the building. - Report any problems that may affect guest satisfaction to the Manager. - Proactively ensure that no rooms are negatively impacted by minor maintenance problems. - Maintain cleanliness in the storage area daily. - Perform preventive duties to minimize potential issues. - Clean and replenish the pool and spa. - Ensure all equipment in the exercise room is in good working order. - Seek assistance from the appropriate professionals for complex problems. - Manage stock levels of maintenance and housekeeping supplies. - Secure all storage areas before the end of the day. - Properly store newly delivered supplies in their designated areas. - Verify the functionality of all exterior lights. - Eliminate visible weeds and maintain well-kept sidewalks. - Regularly clean the filters on all HVAC units throughout the building. - Utilize a pressure washer to clean the sidewalks effectively. - Regularly maintain all smoke alarms (every three months). - Fulfill any additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school Diploma/GED is required. - Prior experience in the hospitality industry is preferred. - Completion of a craft apprenticeship or relevant maintenance experience is ideal. - An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus. - Knowledge of general carpentry and repair, including minor electrical, plumbing, and drywall repairs. - Proficiency in using both hand tools and power tools. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
