    Overview:
    The Systems Engineer, Journeyman will support the Systems Engineering Department (SED) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD.  The program provides systems engineering support of weapons systems on various platforms including technical research and development of technologies, analysis, and documentation as part of the acquisition of Aircraft, Weapon, and Integrated Systems and the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program. The program which this position supports is responsible for managing the aircraft, simulators, and associated systems that support the U.S. Navy’s undergraduate pilot training pipeline.

    Primary Duties:Support systems engineering activities related to sustainment, upgrades, and safety of the T-6B Texan II.Monitor system performance, integration, and airworthinessCoordinate with stakeholders across NAVAIR, training squadrons, and contractors to ensure fleet readiness and training mission effectiveness.Contribute to risk management, technical documentation, and compliance with acquisition standards.Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.Desired Experience:Fixed-Wing Aviation Experience: familiarity with aircraft systems, flight training operations, or acquisition support for fixed-wing aircraft. Knowledge of systems engineering processes and naval acquisition lifecycle.​Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.Three (3) years of recent and relevant experience.Clearance:
    This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required.

    Compensation:
    While skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary. Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines. The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000-$115,000. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.

    Overview:
