In order to continue the great work we are doing, we are in need of a Lead K9 Caretaker to join our amazing team!

    Basic Function

    Under the direction of the Assistant Kennel Manager, the Lead K9 Caretaker will support the proper operation of the kennels by providing direction to the K9 Caretaker team and leading by example regarding day-to-day operations. The duties and tasks include cleaning and maintaining kennel facilities, feeding and caring for the dogs, supporting the K9 Caretaker staff, keeping Kennel Management updated and informed of issues and concerns, and performing all other tasks as assigned.

    Essential Functions and Duties

    Responsible for all cleaning, feeding, bathing and animal handling in accordance with K9s for Warriors policies and procedures, ensuring all kennel staff are in compliance.Ensure and assist in accuracy and compliance with safety procedures for all aspects of the kennels, with special emphasis on animal handling and cleaning chemicalsObserve, assess, and ensure all dog behavior and health concerns are dealt with in accordance with K9s for Warriors guidelines and best practices, reporting any concerns or changes to Veterinary team and Kennel Management.Participate and provide enrichment to dogs with direction from Enrichment team. Support directives of Enrichment team given to kennel staff.Complete kennel and enrichment logs and associated paperwork completely and accurately.Follow instruction given by Veterinary Staff to assist in medicating and care of dogs.Always handle dogs humanely and safely and ensure all kennel staff and volunteers do the same.Report maintenance concerns to Kennel Management, assist with dissemination of incoming products and ordering.Assist with maintaining buildings and equipment, including but not limited to interior and exterior of buildings, grounds, kennel areas, yard maintenance/equipment.Assist in onboarding, orientation, and training of new kennel department hires and volunteers.Respond to the operational needs of the kennel as directed by Kennel Management.Follow and promote all K9s For Warriors’ policies and procedures.Follow and adhere to all PPE policiesIdentify opportunities to improve the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the dogs in K9s For Warriors’ care and bring ideas and suggestions to Kennel Management.Assist in training and oversee volunteers verifying shift duties are being completed and processes are being followedAbility to work with dogs on unknown or outdated vaccination historyAbility to work weekends, holidays, rotating schedule

    Role and Responsibilities:

    The Sr. Development Specialist – Corporate Partners (SDS) plays a key role in supporting K9s For Warriors’ corporate fundraising efforts. This position assists with prospect research, relationship management, communications, and coordination to help cultivate, engage, and steward corporate donors and sponsors.

    The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent independent judgment and critical thinking skills, is detail-oriented, collaborative, proactive, and possesses strong communication skills along with a passion for our mission. This role provides an outstanding opportunity for someone looking to build a career in nonprofit fundraising or corporate social responsibility. The SDS will receive mentorship and take on increasing responsibilities, with a clear path toward more partner-facing and revenue-generating duties.

    Key Responsibilities:Manage and grow a $500,000 fundraising portfolio with 50-plus constituents, ensuring consistent engagement, cultivation, and stewardship.Conduct research to identify new prospective corporate partners, sponsorships, and cause-marketing opportunities.Prepare customized proposals, presentations, partner report and cause-marketing contracts.     Role and Responsibilities

    The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing and recording financial information, researching and analyzing accounts and supporting financial statement preparation. This position is responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely accounting records. This position’s responsibilities include utilizing accounting software programs to process transactions, maintain financial records, preparing reports and reconciliations. The Staff Accountant must be familiar with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and have an aptitude for numbers to ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately, efficiently, and effectively.

    Basic Function

    Under the general direction and supervision of the K9 Procurement & Placement Manager, the K9 Procurement Trainer is responsible for the evaluation, procurement, and transportation of dogs in our program and the maintenance of all associated records, processes, and documentation.


    Pay for this position is $38,300- $44,000, maximum earning potential for this position is $50,600/annually.

    **Shifts will include weekend, evening, and overnight work.

    Travel:

    50% Local/Regional – Home each day

    45% National – Overnight stays

    5% International –Overnight stays

    Essential Functions and Duties

    Coordinate and lead a team of Intake Trainers to facilitate the procurement of dogs into our program from shelters and rescues.Act as primary training evaluator for dogs in our Provider Dog Program. This will include on-site evaluations, video conference calls, and video reviews.Oversee on-site evaluation for procuring rescue dogs that meet program guidelines from a variety of sources.Support safe dog transport for long and short trips to locations nationwide. Occasional overnight travel will be required for dog transport and procurement.Responsible for provider relationships, dog assessment and readiness, documentation for proper transport, vehicle oversight, transportation of dogs, dog handling, transport schedule routes, and emergency preparedness.Scheduling overnight trips – booking flights, rental cars, and making hotel reservations.Assist in ensuring all dogs have received the required preparation for transport: microchip, rabies vaccination, heartworm test, health certificate signed by a veterinarian, and complete transport manifest and photo.Understand expectations for shelter and rescue visitation to ensure positive relationships are established and maintained.Communicate regularly with the K9 Procurement & Placement Manager to ensure coordination of all relevant tasks.Maintain all relevant information in current databases, expense report processing, and other technology as required.Work with Managers, shelters, and program logistics to ensure the proper acquisition, maintenance, filing, and recording of required documentation.Develop and demonstrate an understanding of processes and safety requirements.Schedule and facilitate meetings as needed, in-person and remote, to keep all participants informed, motivated, and encouraged.Solicit and provide stories and pictures of transported dogs. As requested, write stories for Facebook, newsletters, marketing, etc.Facilitate shadow shifts with employees from other departments.Support all other department activities which will contribute to the advancement and success of the team and the mission as identified by supervisor.Coordinate kennel housing with Quarantine Trainers and Kennel staff.Schedule and instruct Foster Program training classes for procured dogs. This schedule will include weekend and evening classes.Assist in other departments and campuses as needed or when K9 Procurement is not possible. Travel around the country to pick up any returning service dogs. Must be prepared for a quick turnaround and last-minute requests. Must maintain positive relationships with current and returning Warriors while picking up any returning dogs.

    Role and Responsibilities

    The Multimedia Specialist will support the Marketing and Development teams by creating a variety of photography and videos for internal and external use. Reporting to the Multimedia Manager, the Multimedia Specialist will collaborate with in-house Marketing team members to create content across multiple platforms that creates national awareness of the K9s For Warriors mission and brand – including, but not limited to photos and videos of Service Dogs and Warriors in training, short-form video content, event coverage, and livestreaming - that is mission-focused and on brand with the organization’s guidelines. This role requires a level of expertise in both still photography and video production.

    A high level of creativity and quality work is imperative to support brand image. To ensure that desired results are obtained, the Multimedia Specialist will have to communicate effectively with the Multimedia Manager regarding expectations to meet standards and deadlines of projects. Photo/Video organization and storage within the organization’s shared drives and content management system is a key part of this role. This position will travel to program training locations, either by K9s For Warriors’ transportation, or Personally Owned Vehicle as well as occasional travel to capture content for K9s events, campaigns, and partnerships.

    A portfolio of recent photography and video work is REQUIRED as part of this application – those without both will not be considered for this position.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
