In order to continue the great work we’re doing, we’re looking to add a Operations Specialist to our amazing team!

    Role and Responsibilities

    Under the general direction and supervision of the Operations Manager, the Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance, facility functions, and for creating and maintaining a clean and orderly environment of the K9s For Warriors campuses, including administrative offices and common areas.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    Perform minor and major maintenance of all buildings and equipment, unless out of scope of employee licensure or experience, as assigned through the maintenance ticketing systemMaintain an orderly workspace and maintenance areaMaintain each campus’ preventative maintenance schedule by performing regular tasks on buildings, vehicles, furniture, and equipment, including but not limited to: Replace filtersMaintain HVAC systemsRepair plumbing leaksPaint walls/ceilingsDiagnose problemsRepair or replace broken partsPressure wash, as neededAssist with housekeeping duties, as neededMaintain landscaping and landscaping equipment, should tasks be warranted and designated by the Director of Operation and/or Operations Manager for the specific campus and position (where applicable):Perform general landscaping services to include, but not limited to: mowing, edging/weed eating, pruning/trimming trees and shrubs, weed control, laying seed, spreading fertilizer; and using equipment such as a lawn mower, edger/weed eater, electric trimmer, blower, etc.Inspecting and fixing any irrigation systems, adjusting timer settings, recalibrating the system annually, and other tasks to ensure the system is properly working.Replace decorative landscaping (i.e. flowers) as needed, apply mulch for protectionGather and remove litter from propertyDiagnose mechanical failures and repair maintenance equipment according to manuals, factory specifications, and use of toolsAssist Director and/or Manager with all duties related to property and repairsPerform routine housekeeping duties, specific to each campus, as necessarySupport and communicate with campus teams during any construction projects, vehicle fleet repairs, preventative maintenance, as necessaryUnderstands proper utilization of PPE for applicable cleaning supplies and maintenance suppliesAssists in delivering heavy or bulk packages/items to various offices

    Basic Function

    The K9 Caretaker supports the proper operation of the kennels, to include cleaning/maintaining kennel facilities, feeding the dogs, caring for the dogs, and ensuring the overall safety of the kennel facilities and dogs.

    Essential Functions and Duties

    Role and Responsibilities

    Under the general direction and supervision of Medical Management, the Veterinary Technician is responsible for the medical care and wellness of all dogs within the program and the maintenance of all medical records.

    Essential Functions and Duties

    Review medical records and establish a plan of action for each dog upon intake to the programAdminister vaccines under Veterinarian supervision/directionCollect and run diagnostic samples including but not limited to fecal, blood, urine, and skin. Submit to outside laboratories when needed.Implant microchips as needed and/or transfer ownership of implanted microchips. Maintain current microchip information.Create individualized dietary plans for all dogs in the program. Adjust diets with current weight trends. Maintain weight and food intake logs.Communicate with local veterinary clinics to schedule necessary appointments for all dogs in the program.     Role and Responsibilities
    The Revenue Initiatives & Events Specialist (RIES) plays a key role in supporting K9s For Warriors’ fundraising strategy by supporting revenue-generating campaigns, awareness-generating campaigns, and executing high-impact Signature Events. This position will be responsible for coordinating logistics, working with vendors, managing fundraising goals, bringing new ideas to events, and helping drive revenue through innovative initiatives.

    The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent independent judgment and critical thinking skills, is detail-oriented, collaborative, proactive, highly-organized, and passionate about mission-driven work. This role provides an outstanding opportunity for someone looking to build a career in nonprofit fundraising and events. The RIES will receive mentorship and take on increasing responsibilities.


    Key Responsibilities
    Revenue Initiatives Support the planning and execution of revenue-generating campaigns, awareness-generating initiatives, Signature Events, and other initiatives Assist in donor cultivation and stewardship efforts for Signature Events and initiatives through sponsorship benefits, event communications, and other communication avenues Track and report on fundraising performance metrics and results Collaborate with the Major Gifts, Grants, Corporate Partners, and Marketing teams to identify new revenue opportunities, ways to grow events, and other efforts Maintain accurate records in CRM systems (Raisers Edge and Salesforce) and event platforms Signature Events Coordinate logistics for Signature Events, including vendors, timelines, and budgets Support event execution in-person Assist with Signature Event registrations, sponsorships, guest lists, and attendee communications Assist with sponsorship fulfillment and partner engagement Ensure all Signature Events align with brand guidelines, along with organizational goals and standards Oversee the complete execution of the following events: Salute To Moms, Capital Campaign Events, monthly Graduations, and other Signature Events throughout the year Oversee fundraising initiatives at Signature Events, like the silent and live auctions, raffle prizes, bid paddle raising, and more Assist the Director of Revenue Initiatives & Events on all other Signature Event details Administrative & Team Support Provide general administrative support to the Director of Revenue Initiatives & Events Assist with brainstorming marketing and promotional efforts for campaigns and Signature Events Prepare materials such as presentations, reports, and event collateral Support cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Corporate Partners, Major Gifts, Grants, and other departments Stay informed in corporate philanthropy and nonprofit fundraising Represent K9s For Warriors at select local events and partner activations

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    Basic Function

    The Veterinarian is responsible for the oversight and management of the medical care of all dogs in K9s For Warriors programs. This position plays an important role in maintaining uniform medical care for all dogs in the organization as well as maintaining healthy relationships among departments of the organization and with Specialty Veterinarians.


    Essential Functions and Duties

    Provide comprehensive, gold-standard medical care for all dogs in the program including but not limited to thorough exams and follow-ups, vaccinations, diagnostic interpretation, emergency care or the direction of it, etc. Maintain accurate, current, and comprehensive medical records, including applicable certificates and documents on all dogs in the programPerform and interpret ultrasound and radiography procedures and results, with emphasis on OFA elbow and hip evaluations and gradingsPerform routine and advanced surgical procedures including but not limited to ovariohysterectomy, orchiectomy, and dental extraction with skill in exploratory laparotomy, enterotomy, and gastrotomy preferred. Consult and strengthen relationships with specialty and emergency veterinarians through collaborative case discussions.     Determined to end Veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors is the leading nonprofit organization providing Service Dogs to military Veterans nationwide suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma — at no financial cost to the Veteran. Founded in 2011 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, K9s For Warriors is committed to saving lives at both ends of the leash by primarily rescuing dogs and pairing them with Veterans in need. In order to continue the great work we’re doing, we’re looking to add a K9 Enrichment Specialist to our amazing team!

    Roles and Responsibilities

    The Enrichment Specialist is responsible for organizing and completing the general day-to-day enrichment activities and assists the Kennel Manager with ensuring the kennel enrichment activities are implemented and followed.

    Essential Functions and Duties

    Create and implement monthly enrichment calendars for canines on campusCoordinate and execute approved, daily enrichment activities, in alignment with Enrichment Trainer Checklists, throughout the kennel being inclusive of all K9 Caretakers Collaborate with K9 Trainers and Procurement team to ensure Enrichment Trainer Checklists are current with any necessary changes to care and behavior of the canines Ensure Enrichment logs are complete and activity recap is sent daily Complete weekly review and filing of Enrichment Trainer Checklists and Enrichment logsTrack inventory of all enrichment items and report needs to the Kennel ManagerPrepare new enrichment items and clean and store used enrichment itemsOrganize and coordinate weekend playgroups utilizing K9 Trainer approved play group listsMonitor medical and behavioral condition of dogs, notate on the kennel cards and notify the appropriate member of the kennel leadership teamWhen required, perform all duties of K9 Caretaker which includes cleaning, feeding, bathing and animal handling in accordance with K9s For Warriors policies and proceduresAbility to work with dogs on unknown or outdated vaccination historyFollow and adhere to all PPE policiesWork collaboratively, and with a positive attitude, with all K9s For Warriors departments for the care, benefit, promotion, and ultimate wellbeing of canines in our care.Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision and handle oneself in a professional manner at all times

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    H.S. diploma or equivalent2 years of animal experience required1 year of kennel experience preferredMust have basic computer literacy skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize items in order of importance Good communication skillsExcellent organization skillsValid driver’s license and meet policy requirements for company auto insuranceResourceful, get-it-done attitude; initiative to assist in any area or process; problem solving, seeking answers independently and enthusiastically; flexibility to persist Strong interpersonal skills, a team player, personable, professional, and able to get along with a diverse team

    Physical Demands

    Ability to exert a moderate to extensive amount of physical effort including, stooping, crouching, twisting, turning, walking stairs, climbing, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds individually. Exposure to unpleasant odors or sounds. Exposure to chemicals, loud noises, and inclement weather.
