The Contribution You'll bring to this Role: Justrite Safety Group is looking for a Production Artist on second shift, 12:00pm-9:00 PM. The Production Artist will create and typeset print ready art files in support of our company vision to be our customers' favorite supplier. Work involves meeting specific requirements based on customer specifications, production standards, and industry regulations by reading purchase orders, quotations, and supporting production documents, communicating with other departments, scanning and saving files, and completing quality inspection of work performed. In this role, you will report directly to the Value Stream Manager, setting the stage for your career to soar! About the Team: As a member of our Operations team, you will be dedicated to driving efficiency and excellence across all aspects of our business. What You'll Do at Justrite: Read and interpret purchase orders, quotes, and supporting production documents. Create and/or typeset print ready-art files using Illustrator and InDesign. Communicate with other departments to ensure all requirements are met. Scan and save files as part of the file management process. Inspect work to maintain a high level of quality and ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications. Participate in cross-training within and outside of the home department, as required; as well as providing training through the sharing of knowledge and skill. Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work area clean. and free of debris; to include basic recycling of materials. Report all unsafe activities to Plant Manager, Safety Director or Human Resources. Comply with all safety and environmental rules, regulations and guidelines, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as required to support the company's mission, values, and goals. Your Skills and Expertise: To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum: High school graduate; 1-yr certificate from college or technical school or 3-6 months of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Good computer skills with the ability to learn and operate required software. Proficient in Adobe Suite Software, Illustrator, and InDesign. Have a good understanding of color management and four-color printing process. Ability to organize, set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; good command of the English language, both written and verbal. Ability to take directions and work well with others. Must be able to meet production demands in a fast-paced environment and work Monday-Friday production shift hours with mandatory overtime, including Saturdays. Good attendance and punctuality. Compensation: The position offers a competitive hourly salary of $20.00/hour. Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as but not limited to location, relevant experience and performance. Able to measure materials for recipes and production line feed. Create guide for trimming and trim product imperfections. Accountable for first level quality inspection of finished products; ensuring we are not compromising on quality to drive productivity and providing our customers with a quality product. Manually run machines and can reset machine controls, if necessary. Neatly stack and tag finished product to be moved to next phase of operation or boxing, based on schedule. Perform general housekeeping and maintenance as required. Cross train on all aspects of NoTrax production, as necessary and time allows. Perform other duties as requested by supervision. Your Skills and Expertise: To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum: Must be able to read, write, have basic knowledge of math and measurements. Attention to detail. Good communication skills. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. alone and up to 90 lbs. with assistance. Must be able to use cutting tools and read a micrometer, which measures the thickness of rubber. Must be flexible with lunches and breaks and be available for occasional weekday and/or Saturday overtime. Compensation: The compensation for this position will include an hourly rate of $16.00 and is paid on a bi-weekly basis. In addition, there is a Hourly Production Bonus Plan that is designed to support Key Performance Indicators of your location and business unit.
