PHLpreK PRESCHOOL TEACHER — Little Leaders Learning Academy 7am-2pm
The PHLpreK Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a high‐quality, developmentally appropriate classroom environment for children ages 3–5 in alignment with PHLpreK program standards, Keystone STARS requirements, and early childhood best practices. This role ensures that every child receives a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning experience that supports school readiness, social‐emotional development, and family partnership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESInstruction & Curriculum
Implement a research‐based curriculum (Creative Curriculum, HighScope, or equivalent) aligned with PHLpreK standards.Develop weekly lesson plans that support cognitive, social‐emotional, physical, and language development.Use Teaching Strategies GOLD or approved assessment tools to document child progress.Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including children with IEPs or developmental concerns.Classroom Environment
Maintain a warm, inclusive, culturally responsive classroom climate.Ensure the environment is clean, organized, and aligned with Keystone STARS and PHLpreK health & safety standards.Establish predictable routines that promote independence and positive behavior.Child Supervision & Safety
Maintain active supervision at all times following OCDEL and PHLpreK guidelines.Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, including ratios, documentation, and incident reporting.Promote safe practices during meals, rest time, transitions, and outdoor play.Family Engagement
Build strong, respectful relationships with families through daily communication.Conduct parent‐teacher conferences and share developmental progress using assessment data.Support family involvement activities and PHLpreK engagement requirements.Professional Responsibilities
Complete all required PHLpreK, OCDEL, and Keystone STARS trainings (including Mandated Reporter, Pediatric First Aid/CPR, Health & Safety).Participate in coaching sessions, Teacher observations, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.Maintain accurate attendance, documentation, and compliance records.QUALIFICATIONS

Required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related fieldPreferred
PQAS or additional ECE certificationsExperience
At least 2 years experience working with preschool‐aged children in a licensed early childhood program.Experience with Creative Curriculum, TS GOLD, or similar tools is a plus.Skills & Competencies

About the Role
The 1‐Year‐Old Lead Teacher creates a nurturing, structured, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 24–36 months. This role leads the classroom with intentional routines, hands‐on learning experiences, and strong communication with families. The Lead Teacher ensures safety, supports social‐emotional growth, and models professionalism while guiding assistant teachers and maintaining compliance with licensing standards.
Job Responsibilities
Classroom Leadership & Instruction
Implements high‐quality programming, educational focus, and care in the assigned classroom.Maintains consistent supervision of children and ensures a safe, nurturing environment.Encourages meaningful engagement and interaction with children throughout the day.Supports the Lead Teacher with planning, evaluating, and implementing educational programs.Prepares the classroom environment and materials according to weekly lesson plans.Implements age‐appropriate developmental and culturally responsive activities.Serves as a backup to the Lead Teacher when needed.Provides leadership and guidance to other team members within the classroom.Child Development & Support
Identifies and supports children’s individual differences and developmental needs.Adjusts curriculum, activities, and environment as necessary to support growth.Participates in the Response to Intervention (RTI) process.May assist with classroom progress reports and developmental documentation.Classroom Operations
Ensures adequate supplies and resources are available.Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.Monitors classroom management including ratios, attendance, mealtime, toileting, resting, and daily schedules.Participates in classroom transition processes.Professionalism & Compliance
Abides by and enforces all company policies and procedures.Displays enthusiasm, professionalism, and a nurturing demeanor at all times.Participates in team efforts to achieve the company’s mission and vision.Maintains 24 professional development hours or 8 college credits annually.Education & Experience Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following:
