    JRAD is seeking candidates for a Junior Level Software Tester position responsible for executing test cases, identifying defects, documenting issues, and helping ensure software applications meet quality standards. Will work closely with the lead software tester, software developers, senior systems engineers, and senior architects. This position requires proficiency in coding, debugging, and collaborating within cross-functional teams. Candidates will support: Functional testing, Regression testing, Integration testing, System testing, User acceptance testing (UAT), API testing, Performance testing, validate software against business and technical requirements, Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, writes clean and maintainable code, and contributes to system testing / quality assurance / verification & validation discussions and improvements. The position is a remote/telework position with frequent on-site meetings at the TSA HQs (Springfield, VA) and the TSA System Integration Facility (TSIF) at Reagan National Airport (DCA), Arlington, VA.


    Roles/Responsibilities:

    Test software applications in programming languages such as Java, C#, C++, ASP.Net Python, JavaScript.Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.Collaborate with product owners, designers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality, user-focused solutions.Debug, test, and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks.Write and maintain technical documentation including code comments, manuals, and API references.Familiar with Agile Software Development such as SAFe and other Agile tools such as Github, JIRAFollow best practices in version control (e.g., Git), agile development, and CI/CD pipelines.Ensure software complies with security, accessibility, and quality standards (e.g., OWASP, Section 508, NIST).Contribute to architectural decisions and recommend improvements for existing applications and systems.Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to the team's tech stack.Provide support and mentoring to junior developers and database administrators.

    Required Skills and Education:

    Candidate must possess the following:

    Bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.0-3 years of hands-on experience in software development.Java/Spring MVC and Spring Boot experience are highly preferred. Single Sign On (SSO) / session management / complex permissions environments.Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.Scala/Http4s experience desired.Data engineering skills are also desirable. Specifically “ETL” (extract, transform, load) experience.Proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Java, .NET, Node.js) and frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Strong understanding of software development best practices and design patterns.Experience using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Experience working in DevOps environments with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, PyTest, Jest).Security clearance or eligibility (for government roles).Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Developer Associate, Microsoft Certified Developer).Experience in DevSecOps or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environments.Preference for Tier III help desk experience.

    Security Clearance:

    Capable of passing DHS suitability screening or DHS financial responsibility standards.

The selected candidate will manage and maintain the Mask Issue and Toxicological Agent Protective Clothing Facility and provide operational and maintenance support to the Process Engineering Facility (PEF), including preventive maintenance, repair, and operation of chemical and biological defense equipment, respiratory protection systems, PPE issue services, hazardous waste management, and field operations support within chemical surety facilities at DEVCOM CBC. Responsibilities also include equipment accountability, technical support for explosive operations, and compliance with environmental, safety, and chemical agent training requirements.


    Roles/Responsibilities:

    Manage, operate, service and maintain the Mask Issue and Toxicological Agent Protective Clothing Facility and provides building maintenance support to the Process Engineering Facility (PEF). Specific areas of responsibility include the preventive maintenance and repair of air filtration systems, pumps and compressors.Provide mask and industrial respiratory protection issue, personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing issue, laundry and sanitation, breathing air compressor services, cascade and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) system support, and Antidote Treatment, Nerve Agent, Auto-injector (ATNAA) services.Support field operations in chemical surety material facilities at DEVCOM CBC. Field operations support includes equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, minor construction using specialized tools, and equipment, transportation, and technical support for explosive operations.Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, test and operate military unique and commercial equipment, used to support chemical and biological (CB) operations to include chemical agent filter systems, chemical fume hoods, biological safety cabinets, ductwork, pumps air compressors and generators.Maintains databases for accountability of all items issued from the Mask Issue and Toxicological Agent Protective Clothing Facility, notifying personnel about due dates for items issued and generating and distributing delinquency reports.Manage, operate and maintain Satellite 90 day Hazardous Waste Facility to support activities.Participate in recurring mandatory training to include but not limited to Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Hazardous Waste Operator and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), Occupational Respiratory Protection, Protective Suit maintenance, repair, donning/doffing, First Ad, CPR/AE, Security Awareness, Chemical Agent Safety Training, and others.

    JRAD is seeking candidates for an immediate fill position supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Chemical, Biological, Radiological Detection (CBRD) Support Services. This is an onsite position at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

    The Field Engineer position applies broad technical knowledge of HVAC, piping, valve systems, and CBRN sensor equipment to support engineering design, analysis, installation, testing, and documentation activities. This position is fully onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA, supporting mission‑critical systems in a high‑visibility environment.

    The role provides direct technical support to the Project Manager across research, design, development, material identification, procurement, inventory management, installation, and test operations. The Field Engineer exercises independent judgment in performing engineering tasks and recommends improvements to enhance system performance and process efficiency. Experience with computer systems administration (Windows and/or Linux) is highly desirable.


    Roles/Responsibilities:

    Support development of cost estimates for CBRN Sensors and HVAC system work.Supervise and perform installation and maintenance of CBRN Sensors and HVAC systems as a working lead.Assist in the development of Installation Design Packages (IDPs).Identify technical issues and provide information to support Condition Discrepancy Reports, Change Order Requests, and Liaison Action Requests.Identify, analyze, report, and correct causes of equipment and system failures.Perform preventive maintenance on CBRN Sensors.Assist in developing test and evaluation procedures for systems and equipment.Support research, selection, and evaluation of equipment, materials, and sensors.Provide technical expertise during installation, production, and integration activities.Conduct pre‑ and post‑installation testing.Provide training on systems and equipment.Conduct configuration audits.Perform additional tasks as assigned to support organizational mission objectives.Overtime may be required.Travel outside the local area may be required.


    Required Skills and Education:

    High School Diploma or GED required.One of the following combinations:Bachelor’s degree in ENG or ENG Management + 1 year related experience, orAssociate’s degree + 4 years related experience, or8 years related experience in removal, installation, and/or repair of HVAC/piping systems in accordance with Military Standard procedures.Valid Driver’s License.Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.Routine climbing of multiple flights of stairs.Ability to work in confined spaces.Work may involve stooping, climbing, walking, and other physical activities.
