    JSI invites you to join our team as a traveling Outside Plant (OSP) Inspector on our Fiber Design & Implementation team, where you'll play a critical role in advancing broadband and telecommunications initiatives that expand connectivity and drive digital inclusion - while advancing your career within a mission-driven, growth-focused organization. We are seeking candidates willing to travel to support projects in Nevada.

    Position Overview: As a traveling OSP Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing fiber optic cable construction to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to engineering plans. In this role, you will collaborate closely with construction crews, project managers, and permitting agencies to support the successful buildout of fiber infrastructure across the U.S.  
    ResponsibilitiesMonitor daily construction activities to ensure fiber placement, construction, and engineering standards/specifications for (aerial, buried, underground) follow engineering prints and customer specifications. Verify cable and equipment placement, sequential numbers, handhole/pedestal installation accuracy, documenting GPS coordinates, and as-built data. Support schedule coordination, workflow monitoring, and cost tracking efforts. Resolve design and staking sheet problems that arise during construction and, when necessary, interpret company guidelines for specific applications. Prepare and submit daily reports and project documentation. Communicate with landowners, permitting agencies, and internal departments.
    Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent. 1-3 years of experience in OSP RUS telecom inspection, construction, and/or engineering preferred. Strong attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret schematics, maps, staking sheets, and construction prints. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and basic computer proficiency. Physically able to work outdoors in varied weather and terrain; capable of standing, walking, bending, and climbing. Must be willing to travel 100% and work overtime as required.  A reliable vehicle is required; we pay mileage. This position requires U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident status.

    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionWe are now seeking several talented telecom Traveling Outside-Plant (OSP) Inspectors to support our strategic expansion. These positions are located across the US and support our work in providing fiber optic construction across rural America. This position is key to providing expert supervision of construction crews. Your job is to ensure construction contractors are placing fiber optic cable according to the customer’s requests (buried, underground, aerial) and engineering work prints (staking sheets).

    Responsibilities & DutiesWorking on-site with the crews daily (in varied weather conditions).Ensuring correct depths of facilities, placement, and taking sequential numbers (numbers every two feet stamped into cabling) and that the correct number of pedestals/handholes, among other things, are installed and in the desired locations.Assist in establishing schedules, coordinating, monitoring workflow, and tracking cost expenditures.Preparing reports and documents and maintaining project records.Resolving design and staking sheet problems in the field during construction and, when necessary, interpreting company guidelines for specific applications.Provide quality control to ensure adherence to construction/engineering standards/specifications.Interacting with landowners, permit agencies, and other company departments. 
    QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or GED.Experience:Some knowledge of telecommunication engineering/construction practices is desired.Previous work in Telecom Inspection with RUS experience preferred.Skills:Must be able to read schematics, maps, and work prints (staking sheets).Must be familiar with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel and possess basic computer skills.Must be capable of performing repetitive physical motions that include bending, standing, climbing, and walking on uneven terrain (in varied weather conditions).
