    Back of House Team Members are the heart of the JINYA Ramen Bar experience. You support the Kitchen Manager and play a critical role in delivering exceptional ramen and menu items with consistency, precision, and quality.

    BOH Team Members ensure every guest receives the highest standard of food production while collaborating with front-of-house teams to create a seamless and memorable dining experience.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Proactively support the back of house team in tasks that helps efficiency including maintaining cleanliness, handling soup or line duties and dishwashing

    • Learn to prepare ramen, appetizers, and menu items according to recipes and Kitchen Manager instructions

    • Execute proper food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating standards

    • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness procedures

    • Follow all JINYA health, safety, and operational policies

    • Operate kitchen equipment safely, including fryers, knives, and heavy cookware

    • Participate in JINYA’s cultural greetings including “Irasshai” and “Arigato”

    • Arrive on time and report to your workstation prepared for service

    • Communicate clearly and professionally with BOH and FOH team members

    • Support front-of-house staff to ensure smooth guest service

    • Promote and execute JINYA’s core values of Teamwork, Hospitality, Authenticity, Creativity, and Integrity

    • Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned by management

    Required Competencies

    • Some restaurant kitchen experience

    • Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques

    • Strong multitasking ability in a high-volume restaurant environment

    • Positive attitude and ability to perform under pressure

    • Ability to read and follow written instructions

    • Willingness to ask questions and follow direction

    • Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented

    • Experience working in multicultural team environments

    • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays

    • Ability to stand for extended periods and maneuver safely in tight kitchen spaces

    Required Education & Certifications

    • Ability to read, write, and speak English or Spanish

    • Must maintain all required local, state, and federal food handling certifications

    Work Environment

    This position operates in a fast-paced, professional restaurant kitchen. BOH team members move frequently between prep lines, cooking stations, and back-of-house areas while using fryers, heavy pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.

    Team members must communicate consistently with kitchen staff and management while maintaining awareness of safety conditions including spills, heat exposure, and equipment hazards.

    Physical Demands

    • Stand and walk for extended periods

    • Use hands and arms for food preparation and equipment handling

    • Lift and move up to 50 pounds

    • Work in hot, humid, or wet kitchen environments

    • Bend, reach, and navigate busy kitchen spaces

    • Distinguish food flavors and quality standards
